Wow - lots of interesting feedback and perceptions.

I understand the sense of achievement.

That is the third thing that is holding me back from getting my first Rolex.

I feel if I achieve something again, really noteworthy, you made it - moment.
By then I would be able to afford one (the second reason, and when one cannot afford, can be a bit of a show stopper).

When I compare the cost of what I really want to get to what I earn a year, that is a really large chunk of my spare change, and considering other things, the timing (no pun intended) is quite right. However Milgauss in 2013 ? I believe that will be too late. I still have 7-ish more months to change all that.
Perhaps I can use my Rolex as a goal to work towards as a reward and do something really nerve-racking.

Tell the time reliably ? lol nice one.

Well if having a Rolex means I get dealt better cards on the poker table, then it should pay for itself. A rolex would go nicely with a World Series of Poker bracelet. That would be the only bracelet many male poker players would ever wear if they were to wear a bracelet at all.

I get a special feeling when I buy the watch much more than when I wear it. Whenever I bought one of my watches I've always had that feeling in which I could put some of my honestly earned money into a passion of mine and the result was that I could get a beautiful and useful piece of jewelry that I would wear because I personally find it beautiful. As for my Rolex, I had a special feeling because it was my very first mechanical watch and it's the proof that everybody can change their minds (I was and am still, to an extent, a quartz watches man) and that sometimes you worry too much about things that aren't worth it (the lack of accuracy in this case, it's a long story...).

Otherwise, whenever I put my Rolex (or any watch) on I just get the feeling that it looks good on my wrist (it has to, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it) and I like taking a look at it (sometimes to know the time, sometimes just to admire it).

Comfort in the sense that I can strap it on and forget it.
Rugged and keeps immaculate time - no need for pampering.

I just feel a sense of appreciation for the watch and what it stands for in the annals of horology, it's robust build, reliability and accuracy, it's beauty, and the very fact that I'm lucky to have a few.

With a name like "Bling72" the ONLY Rolex to wear with your "bling shirt" is the new Rolex Skymaster!!! It should really intimidate your opponents at the tables. Bling on good sir!

I enjoy wearing a Rolex. At the end of the day, it's still just a watch, though.

Now if I were able to afford one of the solid gold models, I would probably go around giggling like a 12 year old school girl - for a long, long time.

But that's just me.

The clientele that I deal with are snooty and wealthy. To these folks Rolex and Cartier are de rigeur. To do business, sometimes you have to be able to relate to the other party in dress and attire.

With the other 99%, their views range from envy to malicious thoughts. So if you can't handle wearing a Rolex in public without concern for your safety, then it's not the right watch for you.

I feel a little disapointed when it's not on my wrist. I feel a little apprehensive when I go to the gym and leave it in my office hiding place. I enjoy it very much!

I feel a sense of accomplishment whenever I put on any of my collection. I know how hard I worked and what had transpired for me to acquire it. I love wearing it!!!!

I enjoy my Rolexes very much. I feel naked when I forget to wear one (usually when I'm rushing to work)... and I feel complete when I wear one.

The best part is when I cycle through all 4 in 1 day... so cool.

Thanks again for your support and feedback everyone.

Paladin : Hmmmm Skymaster looks so wonderful, I was drooling in dream on the prospect on that for my first watch. However being a 50k+ watch I would not being to get something like that in my lifetime.

However I have won money in poker tournaments in the past, what I can do is get back into poker and win some of the big ones. My poker success could be a great catalyst to start a nice collection.

One tournament that was on my birthday I finished 23/120. If I finished in the top 12, I would of qualified for the final where the first price is 30k cold hard cash plus a sapphire stone size of plum worth 10k. 30k tournaments is as good as it gets in Perth. That night I had no decent cards all night, just needed a short run of some good cards. Well never know, next time.

That Rolex ad(the one where you see the Oscillator activate) that shows the new Cosmograph Daytona - oyster bracelet, yellow gold 116528. If I wore that, it would attract people from 50 metres away. That's also be a nice match for my bling shirt :)

I wouldn't be suprised if that was a 75k+ watch.

What is the name of the woman on the ads ?
Just the way she says Rolex.
