Strapped on my first Rolex when I was 12. It was the GMT but it was what my father's watch and what he would wear at the time.

I was 15 years old when I first got my first Rolex, which is the Explorer II.

Its been a hobby and passion of mines since a young age.

Ripe old age of 39 for me.

Put a little "watch fund" aside from normal finances and have been depleting it ever since through numerous flips".

Its a mugs game but I'm hooked.

Got to go with Downing on that (also SD) - Exactly 50.

Just in time for multi-focal glasses (so that the cyclops is not needed).

After all, you're only as old as the woman (or sheep, JJ?) you feel.

Got my first Rolex (SS Sub Date - Apr. '07) when I was 36 (this year). A present to myself.

Second Rolex (SS Daytona white) four months later (Aug. '07). A truly beautiful watch IMO. (All Rolexes are beautiful, but I love the Daytona the most.)

Third Rolex (SS GMT II c) a month after the Daytona (Sep. '07). Although I think I'll be returning it. A couple of reasons. #1 - I can't really "afford" to own a third watch at this time. #2 - I picked up the GMT thinking it would replace the Sub, but I'm finding that I like the Sub more as my "daily" watch. I still really like the GMT but think I'll wait on picking one up.

KJacques,
I am very sorry to learn about your girlfriend. In my humble opinion that Rolex Sub is more valuable than any amount of money because it came from her. It is beautiful, it looks as if it was brand new, do you wear it often?

If a Rolex falls to the bottom of the Tennessee River, can anyone hear your screams? Uhhh.... I'd better go get that third cup of coffee....
