I think Jim and I have the Bermuda mini-GTG scheduled for 9pm tonight. We've traded about a dozen PM, but between our Diving, and their sightseeing, it's been tough. But we are set for this evening. Some pic will surly follow.

Well Jim and I had the first ever Bermuda TRF Mini-GTG tonight.

I have to say Jim and hs wife are lovely people. Top drawer individuals who I would share an evening with any day.

We sat and talked Rolex and other watch topics for an hour and a half, and it flew by, I could have talked all night, but the Dive Boat leaves early in the morning and I need my rest.

We both snapped a few pics, Jim's will be much better than mine, he is a lot more the photographer, but I got back to the room first, so I am going to post some. I am sure Jim will follow up with better pictures.

Again, TRF is a great community with some really neat people.

-Eddie

It was another fun day exploring Bermuda and I'll have more on that, but it will be tomorrow since I am complete toast, literally and figuratively.

Definitely a great "small world" story tonight when Eddie and I finally hooked up. Watches and TRF may have been the ticket to the mini-GTG but the conversation went in all directions with equal interest and enthusiasm. If you ever get the chance to meet Eddie don't blow it cause he probably knows more than you about nearly everything and that is how one learns and grows.

Eddie, it was a pleasure...

Impulse pics were snapped and all I can say is that Mean Joe Green doesn't like being portrayed as the lightweight... I'll have to calm him down... ;)

More Bermuda mañana...

Well it looks like Mrs. 251 and I will be on slo-mo time today until our afternoon departure. Key West used to be our big "spot" but it looks like Bermuda has all it needs to be a one-stop vacation paradise. Being only a 2.5 hour flight from DC lets it play in the "impulse" vacation category as well. It has been a short trip due to time constraints but surely we will be back...

Yesterday we explored a bit of the history here and I'm looking forward studying more...

This is the Commissioner's House, at the Dockyards and deep historical home to British forces in the early-early days...

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341402047.848585.jpg

One of the numerous big-guns used to defend the island against hostile intentions. I guess the soldiers who manned these things never imagined the days of Angry Birds on iPhones...

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341402302.958499.jpg

One of the many gun rooms in the Commissioner's House. Looks like not much ability to aim the guns, dontcha think?

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341402493.145350.jpg

I guess the Commissioner (or maybe his wife, LOL) was fond of big dinner parties. Crazy...

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341402757.927466.jpg

We went to the Dockyards on the local bus - an eye-opening education all by itself. If you like buildings of color, man, this is your place, 'cause they are absolutely everywhere...

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341402939.475762.jpg

The only details we weren't thrilled with were the way cruise-ship passengers infest everything as soon as they dock and the unknown-to-us fact that there would be a corporate GTG party at the hotel this week. If you take those two details out of the picture, then Bermuda would be just perfectly idyllic.

Lastly, my message to Eddie - great to meet up, dive safe...

I'll now return you to your regularly scheduled internet time-wasting.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341404181.764708.jpg

Happy 4-o-J to all!

-Jim
