Thank you Cru, I keep lurking USPS's website with the tracking number and I've just noticed the status "customs clearance", it got updated today at around 11 this morning. I guess I won't have it until tomorrow then...darn darn darn!

Oh please, it was barely a teaser! Don't mind the fact that the original post was written in an ancient language...
Alright guys, I'm telling you for sure that I'm having that watch tomorrow! I was supposed to have it today but the postman came during the only hour my brother and my father, both at home all day long for their vacations, were out buying some things...I'm sure that man is one of you guys, you decided to make my life a living nightmare just for your own amusement (we all know how much you like teasers)! I'll see you around ladies and gentlemen! May Ken ban me if you don't see that watch tomorrow after 1 o' clock (Ken, don't take this too seriously, who knows what kind of lame excuse the post office will tell me to avoid giving me my darn watch! ).

HUGE congrats on a classic beauty!
There are only two two-tone watches I would ever own, that being one and perhaps a DJ.

Alright guys, here it is!
I picked it up at the Post Office this afternoon and took the time to take some pictures in my brand new light box (please thank my girlfriend for that one, it was my birthday gift! ). Please allow me to present to you my new (to me) vintage cushion shaped no name watch! The case is very small with a 28.5 mm size but given its age you can only understand it. According to the seller (and if I remember correctly) it is from the 1930's or 1940's, I'll have to search for that information but if anybody can enlighten me please do! The case of the watch is made of 9kt gold (yes, you read correctly), not an usual material but I did see it a few times stamped on watches and jewelry. It looks like rose gold a little bit if you ask me. As you can tell, the dial is in a rather good shape given its age and the case isn't that bad if you don't consider the small dings and the scratches (especially on the back of it, please see the picture below). A thing that really made me fall in love with that watch was the blued steel hands! They're now a bit faded but I've never had a watch with those and found it very good looking (besides, a second hand in a sub dial has always been a small "want to be" complication I enjoyed)! Now the bad side: the bracelet! I don't know why but both my chronograph and this watch came with those quite too small and not very nice leather bands. I am sure they're not the original ones but I will definitely change this one as well as soon as I have the chance! The only problem is that the lugs are attaches with a gold bar but I may ask a jeweler to cut it and buy some tube spring bars to make a bracelet fit (any opinions on that possibility are welcome, I do not want to modify it that much but it would be must easier this way). here are some pictures with the band! And some wrist shots! As you can see, it is very small but I developped a real interest for those (big watches don't look that good on me, anything larger than 40 mm - with the exception of my now gone SMP - don't fit me well). I think the cushion shape case (boy do I love it! ) makes it look a bit bigger on my wrist (as opposed to a round case, I think that would have looked too feminine). And a last few pictures with my other oldie, the big brother! Thank you very much for having followed my thread (and my apologies to those who are disappointed, the teaser wasn't supposed to last that long). Feel free to comment! P.S.: No video this time because there's too much noise around!

Thank you gentlemen! I really love it and can't believe I've found one!
I kept looking at those cushion shaped (will I repeat it enough times? ) Patek Philippe and Rolex watches and I kept repeating myself I'd have a gold one someday...I guess I've found a cheaper model but I really enjoy looking at it!

Good job, well worth the wait... I hope some experts can shed some light on the history of it..

Very nice Carl and quite unusual indeed!
I wouldn't be modifying it but trying to source some staps to fit, I'm sure that will be fun and you may uncover some more facts on the watch in the process. Enjoy.

Otherwise, perhaps I'll go with a leather nato band: not expensive at all, rather nice and I'll be able to put it on despite the absence of spring bars. How's that for an idea? Thank you Craig, as I've said, I got to really like smaller watches (especially when they're old)! I must have inherited this habit from my father... I'll try to take a couple of pictures of my watch with his 25 mm Seiko.

You can also try a bund strap Carl... I think a black or brown one will nicely complement a smaller cushion shaped gold watch such as yours. |

Thank you Dan!
I thought about those as well! Our great friend Steve (a.k.a. Transio) sent me a few pictures of an old trench watch he bought. He put it on a watch cuff band on which he used some products to give it a vintage look, his pictures made me want to try such a band (although I think I'll go with a bund).

Everything Clapton does is rock and roll!
I'll have to think about it but it seems to be a great idea!

Thank you Tho!
Here are a couple of other pictures guys, the difference isn't very obvious but I've put the band that came with my chronograph on it, it is a tad bigger and fits the watch perfectly! Feel free to comment! Wrist shot à la Dan!
