I know what you mean; but the Daytonas etc are "busier" looking from a visual point of view; That Milgauss has a more streamlined appearance, thus less bulky looking...

I think it looks lovely now. I just wonder how many of these watches will be gathering dust when this big watch craze dies down. Everyone remember the women smoking cigars fad?

Looks great. It is fashionable that way, and if it ever goes out of style for women to wear big watches, you can take over the responsibility of wearing it, haha (just save the bracelet links).

In the 1990s, I bought a girlfriend a 34mm oyster perpetual date, and when she wore it, it was striking that she was wearing such a big, manly watch. Funny how times change!

looks lovely and as long as she and you like it - then who cares whatever anyone says!

my wife wears a 36mm Airking 114200 ( silver with light blue markers ) as her daily choice, its a lovely understated watch and perfect for her wrist. I love girls wearing these more sporty watches, but agree that larger size may out of fashion ( for watches ).

The watch looks great on her. My wife recently tried the same one on and really liked it, she eventually settled for the Daytona though. Don't worry about the size it looks fine, some people still think 42mm sports watches are big for men.

Slightly a little too big. But thats in right now. And you know what's great...once the fad is done, guess where that milgauss is going? To you my friend.

IMHO it looks great on her. Afterall, big watches on women is quite fashionable lately. My wife wears a 42mm Omega Planet Ocean black dial on a black rubber strap, and it looks stunning on her petite wrist.

BTW, I think as a surprise present it would have been a bit risky to get a Milgauss for a woman. But after she tried it on and liked it, I'd say she would love it

As for "what happens when the large watches for women fad wears off", well... You could wear it after she stops loving it, or flip it for a smaller model. Life is too short to worry about "what will happen 5 or 10 years from now".

My wife hates the milgauss with a passion, she says the orange and the lightning bolt make it look cheap. She'll wear my Daytona with joy all day, and she almost bought a ND sub, but the milgauss she just won't touch. She's only 24 too, so it's not a problem of it looking too trendy or anything, she just doesn't like it. Jennifer Anniston has a black with the DLC coating, and my wife loves her to death, and her exact words were "I can't believe she would wear that ugly lightning bolt watch."

I brought my wife to the AD to purchase her first Rolex. After trying on quite a few models, see confessed that my Milgauss GV was her watch of choice. I was quite surprised and told her I would be honored if she wore it. One month later, I returned to the AD and picked up an Explorer II 42 Black to fill the void. Along with my Daytona, our bases are covered and she understand that one is off limits.

Did she try GV? My wife originally wanted a white milgauss, so I bought a white one for her and a GV for myself. When I gave it to her on her 30th birthday, she chose to wear the GV. I personally think that watch looks good on women. My wife is 5'7" 105lb, so her wrist isn't that big.

When I read the title for some reason I thought you were flipping your wife for a Milgaus!

Weird thoughts bug the mind due to this watch obsession!

I think it looks too big...I don't like the idea of a watch's face taking up my entire wrist.

That being said, if that's what she likes (as opposed to what you like for her) then she should get it.
