enjoy that beauty, I have also done a few deals with Greg, he is a true gentleman, as is DavidSW. You cannot go wrong with either.

Isn't the shine that u get from that bezel when u move your wrist amazing? I cannot tell u how many times people or co workers have stopped me and said your watch is a beauty the sheen caught my eye.

Also the beveled edges are out of this world. Congrats and welcome to club Ap!

I don't mean to hijack the thread, Ed, but now that you have both straps...how much longer is the XL? Is it still 2 or 3 holes like you had originally thought?

THANK YOU so much guys! you all are too nice! i truly appreciate your compliments, thoughts, and feedback.

Russ - i wear the diver on the reg strap on the third hole from the end of the strap. maybe if it gets REAL hot the second hole. the measurements are deceitful.. i thought it wouldnt fit. the XL in contrast would have been worn on the FIRST hole from the case or possibly the second. which places the buckle way high on the wrist and close to the watch case.

here is the KICKER. i didnt wear the XL strap. i had it 4 days. when i got the watch the regular strap fit fine. so i called the NY boutique and asked if i could return a 4 day old never worn strap. of course it wasnt special ordered and i would assume the shipping to and from. their answer.... we dont take returns. so.... now im stuck with a strap of no use to me. they suggested EBAY. really?? a tad crappy on customer service on a guy who just switched brands and paid a ton for a steel watch. dont get me wrong i love the watch.... but c'mon. honestly if the "cleaver" sales person would have offered me an exchange.... they would have probably ended up selling me a bracelet.... but they didnt think that far out apparently.

anyone need an XL strap i got one for ya!

i also bumped my panerai 112 listing here because i just dont see it getting any wrist time between the GMTIIc and the Diver.... i like the watch but its cash.... horrible problems to have huh? ha ha am i making a mistake guys?
1. Excellent choice of watch and band. I think it looks best as is, but I am partial to straps and realize that may not be ideal for hot or humid weather.

2. Bummer about the NYC Boutique. I agree they should have offered you an exchange or store credit. I tend to not complain, but would boycott them in future.

3. Panerai is as iconic as the Royal Oak and so different that they are almost complements. You might want to place them side by side and ask non WIS folks to take a peek.
