date or no date
best advice is to buy what you like. all of the subs seem to be sound investments. i would buy a pre-owner one-minimal downside, imho.

I think they both look very nice and have their own respective appeals. So get whatever you think looks better on your wrist. For me, I'd like the one with the date function

I think the look of the 114060 is better then the date. Maxi dial and clean lines with no bubble looks fantastic.
I've always owned Rolex with date functions, but the history and beauty of this piece has me not caring whatsoever. I see the date a million times a date now with all my Apple products. That being said, I understand the want for a date function. I've owned both, and I side with the 114969(right now). However, you really can't go wrong either way. Don't worry about resale. A Rolex is a Rolex and will always resale well. Don't buy watch ith intention to flip, plus the MSRP on ND is cheaper anyhow. |

The date for me because its a function I use all the time.
As to resale, the date is more popular so I think finding a buyer would be easier, but you'd need a crystal ball to know which would hold its price better. |

I never purchased my SubC ND with the potential resale value in mind and don't see that I've been financially disadvantaged by my choice.
I just thought - if I was using my divers watch to actually 'dive', how likely am I to need to check the date? So I guess I was trying to be true to the original concept - - and I always know what the date is anyway. I also feel that the cyclops draws your eye and dominates the dial. |

I don't like the cyclops, so I chose the No Date Sub.

I use the date function because i'm forgetful! Very useful! The non-date is clean though.

I have always slightly preferred the look of no-date window-bubble. My first Rolex was a Sea-Dweller. I used to rely heavily on a glance at the date on my watch, but collecting a variety of vintage watches without dates just didn't afford me that convenience. Especially now that I wear a Dateless-Tona every day, I have trained myself to look at my phone and remember the date. So, ND Sub for me. Probably retains the same percentage of its value compared to a date model.

The trouble with a no-date version is that people may think you couldn't afford the
with-date version! |

Get the date version. I started many years ago with a non-date Sub and then ended up buying the date.
Better yet, buy both! |

No date
All of my others have date function so I decided to go a different route with a more clean look IMHO. Loving my SubC ND.

Are the case, bezel and dial on the 114060 the same size as the 116610? On the 14060 they were a little smaller then the date version and it showed...

Thank you all so much for your passion and advice, all of which I read amny times. However it was down to how it felt on and I decided to go for the No date Sub simply because its is Looks neater, it has a more symetrical dial, its slightly thinner, It may probably be a little bit more rare to see on a wrist than the dated version as the sub date is a very popular watch and rightly so. It felt and looked stunning on and will be picking it up on Wednesday. Once again thanks to all of you

I'd buy the Sub date model. The value seems to hold much better on the date model.
Good luck and enjoy your purchase.

Good choice, I had one , until I swapped it for a Milgauss.
For other members thinking off a Sub. C date / no date, at least here in Australia - cost is a consideration as well. MSRP here is quite substantial between the two - like $1,700 difference - not a small sum of money !
