a Rolex Sub LV , Receipt shows the MSRP, but when I claimed it for him.
they concluded that because of the year which was 2 years old by then, and depending on the value drop of it being used ? and they evaluated it with the minimum cost since they "research showed" that the lowest they were able to find was at a certain price range and this is based off of the cheapest sub regardless of limited edition or not. They only wrote me a 4k check which was outrageous.

But this was from a 3rd party insurance, maybe home owners insurance is different ?I had to fight it for awhile to even get the check for him.
Home owners insurance is usually replacement cost.
I bought an Omega Planet Ocean on Ebay for 1800 and never received it. My homeowners insurance gave me a cheque for 4800 (5300 - 500.00 deductible) so I bought my first Rolex with the proceeds

My insurance co. (USAA) just took my watch info over the phone and I made sure the policy was replacement value. They said that if anything happened to it send a police report or letter of explanation (lost) and they would contact rolex and have them send me a new one. Can't beat that.
