I'd settle for that, no problem (very nice ). I was looking/browsing at Lexus online this A.M for my wife but with our older cars having such low miles and paying NO taxes and cheap insurance I'm going to stick with these for a couple more years. They are practically money in the bank each month.
Still hard to resist the urge for a newer, blingier car.

Mine's an '02 with 35K mi. on it. This one will likely be in my driveway for many years to come.

Unlike my wife who trades her LS every 5 years. I've got to put a stop to that.

I see too many BMW owners here. Nice cars, love them myself too...
But I drive a Freelander Land Rover and thinking of buying either the new Audi A4 1.8T or the BMW X3.

Don't forget that this is Greece and car prices have nothing to do with US or Europe prices....

For 4WD check out the Toyota FJ Cruiser, or the 4runner if you need to carry cargo. The only Jeep I would look at would be the Rubicon Unlimited, but generally any Wrangler blows away a Hummer H2 or H3. The commercial Hummers really aren't the greatest off-roaders.

For AWD (snow and rain, soft-road), Subaru is the standard by which all others are measured. Toyota has good ones in their Highlander and Rav4. Volvo XC70 is also nice, but why not just get the original, the Subaru?

If I were buying a 4wd truck in the near future, I would get something cheap and used to last a year or two until the really nice, efficient diesel engines start hitting the states.

I had the Honda CRV, Element and Ridgeline. They were all fine. Right now I have a Land Cruiser for work. Biggest issue is snow, 2nd is safety.

The new CRV is excellent, but the new Rav4 beats it out because it has a peppy v6 that gets better mileage than the Honda 4-cylinder. I drove this, and it is very sporty. The thing I don't like about the Rav4 is that the back cargo door opens to the right, blocking the curb, and with the spare it's quite heavy. For my wife this would be a problem.

The best snow car in the world is the Subaru. It's also one of the safest. If you buy the XT you can make some spare cash challenging Mustang owners to races. It goes 0-60 in under 6 seconds.

and it's a station wagon.

My husband drives the FJ Cruiser. After last winter's ice storm he had trouble getting to work in his rear-wheel drive Xterra, so he got the 4WD FJ. It's really a cute car - the girls think it looks like a jumping spider. We call it the poor man's Hummer.

JJ, is that the Millenia? Or the 929? Looks like my mom's car and she just loves it. The body style was ahead of its time.

It's a Jap import, Lisa, and is called the Mazda Lantis. We have a similar NZ version which is called the Mazda Astina.

Yes, it was always ahead of its time. That's a 1994 model and still looks pretty modern.

Fitted with a 1800 cc, 4-cylinder engine, it goes like a rocket. 5-speed manual (stick) shift. I hate automatics.

Cheers - JJ

My husband and I have owned a few Mazdas over the years - I bought the MX-5 Miata in 1990 and driving the car was loads of fun. I didn't care at all if it messed up my hair - drove with the top down whenever possible. I bought it without knowing how to drive a standard transmission - but learned on the way home!

Then husband got a 626, then I got the Protege' hatchback, then the Tribute SUV once I had 2 kids. Had to sell it when there wasn't room for another car seat.

I still wonder if your Mazda would be called a Millenia, or a 929 - but given a different name for your part of the world? Astina or Lantis aren't names marketed to the USA.

Yes, I know....different names in different countries. Lantis is the direct Jap import. Astina is NZ assembled. The Jap imports are more popular as they are virtually trouble free.

Never heard of Millenia or 929. We did have the 323 and 626.....now we have the Mazda3 and Mazda6.

Poor man's Hummer? Funny.

In other words, the list of why the FJ is superior to the H3 includes price, among many other features.
