I wear my Rolex everyday. And I do not wear expensive clothing.
A Rolex looks good with any combination of clothing. Heck, it even looks good while it is riding in my 12 Accord v6! |

I wear my AK as an everyday watch, and will wear my TT Date with a sport coat or suit. When I get really dressed up I wear a vintage IWC, Hamilton or Omega on a strap.

From a WIS point of view, it is certainly nice to have a dress watch as well as a daily beater. I doubt that anyone else (other than a WIS) notices or cares about what is worn when.
If I was concerned about having a single watch that would be good for both applications, I would have a TT DJ. If I wasn't concerned, I'd just have a Sub and wear it everywhere.

My goal is to one day buy a YG GMTIIC and wear it with a pair of shorts and a tshirt with a pair of flip flops to Maui. Simple yet sophisticated.

Why not buy a beautiful vintage dress watch to wear with a suit? They're not terribly expensive (anywhere from $200 to $1000 depending on what you want (of course you could spend a lot more, but that price range will get you a lot of options), and what watch collector worth his stones isn't always looking for an excuse to buy another watch? ("But Honey... my Rolex is a sport watch. I neeeeeeeed a dress watch!")
My recent purchase (for $625)... Cary Grant would have worn it proudly.

My SubC is my companion for all occasions.
When I'm wearing it at the gym, it's my tough sports training timer. When I'm wearing it casual on weekends, it's my ultra stylish, ultra cool fashion piece. When I'm wearing it at work with a suit, it's my professional class piece. When I'm wearing it formal with a dinner suit at a formal function, it is my 'this man has style and class, but yet he has a much deeper, an action man side and a deeper charm to him' piece. I just love how the Sub reflects your personality, and who you are, in every situation, and gives me a different feeling with each attire. So IMHO, the Sub is great for all occasions, even with a suit. |

Sounds like most people are happy to put on their daily watch for special occasions and I think I myself, like a lot of people here, would be happy to wear a sub with a suit..,

I like this idea very much also, will just have to get saving again after the Sub purchase!... Quote:
