I have a few nasty ones on my 2 week old GMT-IIc already

I have worn brushed SS oyster bracelet models for 20 years. In the past, I annually took a scotch-brite pad followed by 0000 steel wool to the bracelet to give it a factory fresh brushed look.

The GMT-IIc is my second Rolex with the polished center links, but being a daily wearer I can see my watch looking like this real quick:

If this is the case then I might just brush the entire bracelet...

If there will be an Explorer IIc, I will sure buy it, but I hope it will not have the polished centre-links of the GMT IIc.

I believe that if we see any updates this year by rolex all of them are going to have maxi dial, ceramic bezels and polished center links for extra bling. IMHO i believe that rolex is changing a lot and we are in the middle of transition period

Q, if I brush my bracelet will Rolex consider it modified and refuse to service my watch in 5 years?

I am seriously considering brushing it out.
LOVE the ceramic bezel, triplock crown, bracelet is worlds better than my old GMT-II.
But two weeks in I can see I am going to scratch the hell out of the center links.

No, RSC won't as such refuse servicing your watch, but they will bring the bracelet back to its original state (i.e.: high-polished the centre links once again) at YOUR expense.

And polishing up a satined bracelet can be done, but would involve loss of material, and maybe the result even won't satisfy you.

I suggest you leave it be as it is.

A few scratches and small nicks on the side of the massive Tudor oyster case. RSC will buff it back to new in the future.

Scratches happen when you wear the watch. Not from sitting in a box.

you know what, i should buy a brand new rolex just like the one i wear everyday. this new one i will never touch, i will keep all seals on it, so every time i scratch the watch on my wrist, ill just take a look at my new one sealed in the box with 0 scratches and that will make me feel all better.

Mullman, I am with you! I did most of mine in the first week while enjoying the hot tub in St. Lucia I rested my arms on the edge of the tub (large stone surround) and scratched the sh*t out of my new YM Platty. Oh well, it is made to be worn...

Now I don't sweat the underside, I would still hate to ding the bezel though.

I certainly don't go around abusing my Rolex, but to me they are not jewelry. Mine goes every where I go 24/7. After daily wearing these watches for 20+ years scratches mean nothing to me. They are kind of like the wrinkles on your face, each one tells a story about your life.

Hi, The first series of pics are from a scratch I don't know where from Just the way I like it It's my everyday 24/7 watch, so I wear these with pride
Now the second series are from when I thought I would remove the rest of the green hologram picture sticky with a Miele glass cook top cleaner Man did I feel like a tosser
Does anyone know if they refinish the case back at service?
Rob.

I treat my two rolexes like people treat fine cigars. Take them out of the box .. ok wait ... take s shower first before I touch these sacred and sacrosant items .... I breathe in the ROLEX air, wear the rolex for a day or two and then lock it up for a year or two. Honestly, I forgot I had a ROLEX and for about 3 yrs, my SS SUB sat in a box. I wear it more often now, like once a month. Now with the SD in my collection, I gotto wear them more often

I'm sorry, but this is just ridiculous. Like a car is meant to be driven, a watch is meant to be worn and used for its intended purpose. To do anything else is just a waste of a fine piece of machinery.

Please sell your Rolex's to someone who will use them.

Wow, it looks like an 20 year old ROLEX, I'm sorry but why not to care such an expensive watch, that is like to buy a new BMW and crash everyday and paint everyday, if you even clean scratches will it be same as new ofcourse not, its like to crush a paper in your hand and again ironing it and again crushing and again ironing and it will look like old.
