Here's 007Sub's twin brother
I bought this watch yesterday from a guy (non-watch guy) who bought it several years ago from a Navy Seal who used it in the Vietnam War.
It has the "half" pointed crown guards, and has a serial number of 622xxx. The lume is all matching, but my second hand is not a big bubble. The lume will glow if I charge it with an LED, but will fade quickly. The watch came on a C&I riveted bracelet, marked 1-69. The bracelet is stretched and too large for me, so I put it on a 93150 from a 1680, to wear until I get the bracelet tightened and repaired. I do like the combination of gilt and white writing! |

Gorgeous!!!!! What a small world that we should find two nearly identical 7016/0s with similar history! Great find!!! Congrats and wear it in good health!
p.s. I recently bought a rivet 6636 C&I bracelet but am considering selling it because first, its too big and second, I'm not sure I like the way the end links sit between the lugs. I'm sure I can have it adjusted by an expert but I'm not sure if I want to go through all of that. Perhaps I should get a more modern band like this...(9315 with 580 endlinks)... it looks like those endlinks sit nicely in that watch! Gorgeous find again! Congrats!

I bought this from the widow of a Canadian Navy Diver . It had hands replaced on board (where they fixed watches with what they have). Anyway congrats , I know you'll love yours as much as I do !ImageUploadedByTapatalk1362505116.719351.jpg

Resurrecting this old thread, as I am about to pull the trigger on an unpolished, near-mint transitional rose dial 7016/0...
Guys, have you noticed that these dials are pretty much "rail" dials (like the mid-70s rail dial 1675)?

That is beyond awesome. I LOVE to read about the history of the watch from the original owner. I think it needs a new dial, polish, new hands, and a new crown

OK, a teaser shot. You might recognize where this one is coming from...it's likely unpolished. No bracelet, though (not a biggie).

Looks great - I was in the running for a beautiful transitional 7016/0 on the 'bay earlier this week that I wish wouldn't have went for so much ($3750) - it was worth every penny I was just being cheap and I regret it now...

I have a 7928 with a very similar dial (service) that I have always thought looks like the radial dial! R :-)

Yes, that's what I meant, Ross. It must have been a 1968 thing in the Tudor Sub world...
