...if that's what someone wants to do with their money, that's just fine with me, but for my personal taste, I find it totally ostentatious and akin to having a gold toilet.

As long as you don't use gold toilet paper I'm fine with it.

I'd rather the extra money went towards a complication rather than bling.
Great looking for those that prefer diamonds though..

Or, to put it bluntly you are paying over $235,000 for nothing but the opportunity to say you own the most expensive Rolex watch. There has to be a reasonable price point in this market. I'm thankful for free enterprise but this is just plain price gouging or profiteering or whatever the economists call it. It's crazy ! ! !
Do you reason with Ferrari the same way? What's the scrap value of a Ferrari? Its just a bunch of steel, aluminum, magnesium and carbon fiber, right? I bet I could buy the raw materials for what makes a Ferrari for only a few thousand dollars. Oh wait, who's going to make it into a Ferrari for me?

Do the materials making up the watch somehow magically transform themselves into the watch?

The square and rectangular baguette diamonds are pretty large in the bezel, and very large on the bracelet. There are a total of 115 diamonds on the watch (bezel plus dial plus bracelet). $3,000 in diamonds at best?? $26 per diamond? Per D color, flawless diamond?? Per perfectly matched, perfectly set diamond??

Platinum, in its raw, unusable form, is worth just over $50 per gram at the moment.

Where exactly did you get your numbers from?

Everyone has different tastes.....not everyone is into such flash....I personally would wear it during a very special event but that would be about it....but would not own it because it would just sit in the vault and that's not what watches are for....

That's what I am thinking....it's $50 per gram for PLAT....and that's is not how you calculate the value of Rolex....you are paying premium for a brand. Trust me, you cannot walk into Tiffany & Co. and pay $.86 per gram for their silver jewelry....you pay for the brand.

I think it would look great on a wife or girlfriend. It's a pretty watch, just not for me to wear IMO.

Wow that is some serious bling! If you have that much money and what to stand out from the crowd then THAT is the way to do it!

I'd throw in another $100,000 and buy the Patek 6102.

It's very impressive but it's definitely not my style. Personally, I stay away from diamonds but some people pull them off better than others.

Wow!

Dingo and Monbk that's awesome, but the ones you have on don't have the diamond bracelet so stop toying with us!

A lot of mixed reviews here. I do like the watch. It is heavy on the wrist but the look is great. The video is great and really shows off the diamonds.
