Bo,

Mine is just the opposite. There is a little more space on the bottom than the top when I look at it under magnification. I don't think I'll let it bother me though since it looks just fine with the naked eye!

It looks fine to me, enjoy it.

The date display window on my Navitimer shows white above the 30 and no white beneath the 30. Doesn't bother me at all.

They have pills for stuff like that. LOL. I bet every morning for the next 30 days you will have the same issues. Turning the date by hand to check won't produce the same result..OH, Oh...The next 30 days are going to be tough to handle.

Hey Bo,

Try looking at it upside down.....on your head!!!

Seriously, pal.....it looks just fine!! I really wouldn't bother having anyone touch the watch.

Even though how much we say "let it be", at the end of the day, if it keeps bothering you, go complain to the AD.

Leave it. I have other date watches that do the same thing, except for my G-Shock. I don't think it's a flaw. Nothing's perfect else you'd be flipping/tossing furiously and will never ever be satisfied.

It's like that problem some women (and men) have about looking for the perfect mate. Every perceived flaw is not acceptable and she passes up every prospect until the non-existent "Prince Charming" comes to sweep her off.

Hey, Bo, if you hadn't have pointed it out I would never have noticed. I know what it's like, though - once you spot an imperfection, however small, it gets to you. It's easy to get things out of proportion. I would guess that the very slight misalignment that you have spotted will fall within the acceptable tolerance of the date display mechanism and that lots of Rolexes will have date displays that are slightly off centre. Anyway, my GMT has lots of little imperfections that I've learned to accept - they're just part of the character of the watch and make it 'individual'.

Personally, I wouldn't want to get the watch opened up (thereby risking other problems) just to rectify the date display - as a compromise, how about living with it until the next service and see if anything can be done about it then?

Be brave!!
Stan.

It's something that I probably would not have noticed. I am not sure what an RSC would do to repair it. Is the off-center issue only with 30, or is it consistent with all the dates. There is some slop in the date-wheel for the quick date to work correctly. Maybe it is a printing issue on just the 30 (similar to the GMT II vs GMT || on some 16710 dial faces). I would just let it lie and see if it is consistent.

Err buddy Bo...that "30th" date displayed may be a couple of microscopic tolerance off its mark...but the "11th" date looks perfect to Orchi.

Perhaps it could be due to the misaligned print of the "30th" date on the DATE wheel of your watch...

How about the DATE display on every other days...?

Why does Orchi always speak in the third person tense?

It's all a question of parallax Bo. Your eyeball or camera has to be perfectly centered above the cyclops. The the same with the bezel alignment at 12. Unless you are looking at it top dead centre, it will appear to be off centre.

I'm so glad I own a 16600

Very good advice, Stan!

When the watch is going to be serviced where the whole movement is taken out etc., I will ask my AD if something can be done with the date wheel.

My date on '31' looks centred left to right and top to bottom.

I'll get my camera and take a pix.

. Do you actually believe that the date can be off? I think that it depends on the angle that you are watching the date
