Okay here we go guys...sorry there is not one spec of sun in Austin, so pics are not popping like they should. Hope it comes out later and will take more:
Back in the Black... Why I love, love, love the AP 44mm FC (and will never sell it again): 1. Weight. Enjoy all AP 44mm’s and owned all, but RG and even SS were ultimately too heavy for me (especially RG—weighs a ton, as it should). Both stunning pieces, hands down, but I wanted something to wear for days on end. I found the FC was so super comfortable—I even sleep with it on. 2. Looks. The layers of black in this watch are simply like no other. The forged carbon coloring gives the case a nice pop, vs a solid black (like 2013 ceramic 44mm—now that is dark). In the sun there’s always something new that pops out. I also like the quasi-stealth look. Not too loud, not too quiet—just right. Dress up or down-- it’s a great balance. 3. “What is that” factor. It was like no other watch I have owned when it came to people asking about it. One trip I took it to Vegas last year, it started on the plane a guy next to me wearing a Hublot asked what it was, waiting at check-in at Mandarin another person checking from France asked about it, casino dealer, etc. Don’t buy it for that reason, but it does have that factor—not an everyday watch…and I like unique factor. 4. Size. Yes, you either love or hate large watches. I prefer watches larger than 40mm, however I find the 44 FC does not appear quite as large as other 44mm on the wrist. The size is very manageable, even under a dress shirt and suit. Just enough wrist presence, but not in a boat anchor kind of way. Well, nothing like buying a watch new twice—something many of us know too well. Glad to have this one back in the stable…and AP short strap change out (glad they had it at Clearwater—normally it’s a 4-6 week back order). Time to book a beach vacation to celebrate Love the back Where's the sun to make this pop: Time to pull stickers off: Wrist shot: Pocket shot: Buckle: Short strap from Clearwater that arrived today as well: |
