Thanks to all who responded to my thread. I am still not any closer to making a decision! This is so difficult. I appreciate the technology in the DSSD so much and having tried it on many times I also know I could carry it off rather well. On the other hand, the YM1 is a watch which I like so much too. The platinum dial is extraordinary and the bezel and numbers all look the part. As for wearing it, probably the most comfortable I have ever worn from all Rolexes tried on and bought. I just wonder if either of them are worth an asking price of £8,000? In a previous thread, which many of you also helped me with, I considered the possibility of buying 2 watches rather than one, but, and its a significant but... I know that if I don't buy the DSSD or YM1 (or YM2 come to that) now, i.e. before the next price increase, then I never will. So in a way, its trying to determine what the better watch(s) are to buy at this time. I have to think investment purposes in this regard, which I know is not how many of you think. However, we are all different and buy for different reasons and with different things in mind, and this is how it is for me. All I know is that I'd like to 'try' and buy the next watch that will be the better keeper out of the bunch, and a fun wearer too. The reason I didn't consider other watches in my line-up, which one poster asked, is because these 2 along with the YM2 in steel are my real favourites so its trying to choose the best of these 3. Well, that's where I am at for the moment. Other, lower priced watches, I am happy to buy next year, but I won't spend £9,000+ on a DSSSD or YM1 watch next year out of principal, so that's the pickle! Can YM1 owners tell me if its OK when the platinum bezel is damaged to repair it? Is it all done as part of a Rolex service or is a new bezel required, and if so, at what cost? With thanks. AM.

I love the YM plat dial. I think its stunning.

I just don't like the name.

Never found appreciation for the dssd.

I'd go exp 1 39mm

Platinum! And just for the record, gorgeous as she is, Charlize cannot pull off the Dssd, imo.

Between those two choices I'd pick the DSSD. Much more durable as a daily beater.

YM to look YuMmy. Can't say about cost to repair the bezel though cos scared as hell to damage it cos I hear it costs a bomb to replace. That said. Will always pick the YM for women it just makes all women look better wearing it.
