If you do wear it, please take pictures of the DeepSea indent. Pics or it didn't happen!

I get it...and I understand...but just wear it and enjoy it. It's just a hunk of replaceable metal.
This is my general attitude too, but.....

So what if we all say "wear it" but you can't keep your mind off it and can't enjoy your trip?
These 2 posts above make some sense too. On holidays, I generally wear a watch nice enough to satisfy my WIS-needs, but not a Rolex or JLC. That leaves holiday duties to my Omegas, Sinn, Breitling, etc.

Could just throw a decent olive colour Nato on it to tone it down. That's what I do. They may think I'm an ex-Seal and why mess with a Seal?

It's crazy not to insure expensive watches. It's so cheap to do so. Then you can wear with piece of mind and enjoy it. However, go with your gut. If if bothers you, don't do it. But if you're just going to be on the resort the whole time, I wouldn't worry. Just be smart, use your head, know your surroundings and don't tempt thieves. They are cowards who prey on targets of opportunity. Don't make it easy.

I suggest that you take two watches (Rolex and a digital) when you go to Tenerife.
This will give you the flexibility to use the nice Rolex Deep Sea Dweller at the resort.
Then you can use your digital watch to go out and safely visit the local places, without having to worry about being mugged for your Rolex. (It does happen nowadays in many vacation spots around the world.)
While you visit the local places, the Rolex can stay back at the Resort's safe deposit box in your room, I am sure that if the resort is posh they will have the safe deposit box in the room. You may want to check with the hotel about the safe deposit box in the room.
It is better to be safe than sorry and by taking the two watches, you will be able to enjoy the Rolex Deep Sea at the resort and the local places without any safety concerns.
Good luck and enjoy your vacation!

If you are going to stress about it while there don't take it. Vacations are to reduce stress not elevate it. Also, to those who say just insure it so if you get robbed no big deal.

You do not take into account that some robberies are armed robberies...as in a weapon is there...and often used. Do not think that a thief who assaults a tourist on vacation is going to have much patience and simply ask for your watch.

He might just kill you for it to prevent any witness (after all - these are not rational people and more often than not on drugs).

I agree...wear your Deepsea and bring a G Shock or other digital for activites where you many not wish to expose your Rolex to the "elements".

not this again - leave it at home and it won't be an issue, or take it and worry about it...

Personally. In all seriousness. If your afraid to wear it there, you should be afraid anywhere.

If I were you, I'd sell it off and buy something your more comfortable with.

Should I Wear My Deepsea On Holiday To Tenerife - Or Buy Something Cheap?

Depends... Are you planning to dive, and if so down to 12000 ft?

Mugged in the Canaries? There's 10-20 tourists for every local, so I'm sure you can Posse-up!

Wear it! With a Gshock you will be out watched about everywhere you go in Europe starting at the ticket line in the airport.

Wear it and be proud!

I have worn my sub 1680 in the most dangerous corners of earth and nada. Actually, even the bad guys respect a Rolex sports watch.
