Lee, it usually depends on the year. If it is one that has never been worn, then that is a very good price. Mine is an S-serial from 1995, ran me about $4,200 in pristine condition. They will definitely appreciate in value, so if you can afford it and the planets are aligned correctly, pull the trigger!

I've owned my GMT for 26 years and it has the Pepsi insert. It is my favorite due to the history behind it. I do also have the all black insert and I swap them out by myself a few times a year. It takes about three minutes and it hasn't caused any problems with any of the associated components. So I say buy a Pepsi and get the additional inserts from your AD. If I were to get another GMT it would most definitely be a vintage Root Beer!

Pepsi, but I keep trying to change it to Coke. Every time I get close I chicken out again.
Pepsi is just beautiful. |

We think so. But then, a mind is a terrible thing to not have...

Voted Coke because I love the look of it and the Pepsi doesn't really do it for me (like I'd turn one down if it was offered--hehe). Like others have said, though, the great thing about the watch is that you can have what amounts to three watches for the price of a couple of extra bezels. Pretty cool.

Your poll question is tricky...
because a Sub is not a GMT. What can I say, I love them all, but as a vintage collector, if I had a Sub and a GMT to choose from, I'd probably buy the Sub.

I didn't mean to emply that a sub is a GMT. I just wanted to give an option if you didn't like either.

My 16710 was purchased in December 1996, from an AD in Southern California, while on a business trip there. I originally had the Coke bezel insert, but decided in September, 2004 that I enjoyed the Pepsi bezel insert more. I had the bezel changed at the RSC, and it has stayed that way since. I also like the all black GMT bezel inserts also.

Coke is a bit too sweet, but Pepsi can be somewhat dull.
I say Dr. Pepper: |

My simple answer to the age old question...
1. When it comes to the GMT Master, my vote goes to the Pepsi all the way! 2. When it comes to the soda, my vote will definitely always be Coca Cola or Coke. Even though I stopped drinking soda, I always liked Coca Cola over Pepsi.
