Hopefully SaddleSC will be along to chime in with a photo of his beauty.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the blue is different between the 2 dials. I also prefer the darker blue that comes with the stick dial
Your wish is my command:)

Sticks for me because I prefer the darker blue and because I love the added functionality if the great lume. I also find it makes it a bit sportier and easier to dress more casually with. It is one of my favorite Rolex of all time...

yep, I'm still torn. But the good news is I'm going to the local AD to compare. Last time, as I said, I hadn't given the Roman much thought. So now that I'm curious, it'll make things more interesting. I tried on the white (so crisp!) and the blue stick (looked amazing)! Won't be pulling the trigger yet today, so at least I know I'll have plenty of time to think it over.
HAGWE!

I used to think that I liked the sticks, but then I laid them side by side and the grey with romans was by far the cleanest, most beautiful dial I have ever seen.

Legability is not a issue, as I read the time from the hour and minute hand, not the sticks.

By the way, the DJ II is by far the most comfortable Rolex I have ever owned, it is just amazing.

Hey Trevor! Good to see you around:)
You make a good point about using the lume on the hands to read the time; however, unfortunately for the OP the dial that you have is the only one available on the DJII with both Roman markers and lume on the hands. The blue Romans has no lume on the hands and can be much more diffucult to read.

If I did Roman, I'd do grey or black dial. I should've pointed that out originally. Trevor your pics are the ones that made me want a Roman! That looks absolutely stunning man!

Legibility is not an issue.
If you have to look at the dial for a second or two longer to ascertain the time - hey - all the better.
It's like "What's the time?" " I dunno, I was just admiring my watch".

I like the Romans with the fluted bezel and darker dial. Having said that, SaddleSC's blue dial with sticks is a beautiful watch.

Surely a dress watch demands the more simple sticks? (If you can get passed the date and bracelet).

IMO Stick is easier to read with a blue dial.

It doesn't matter what color dial you go for, they're all stunning. The only two things that matter, (if you want the classic, iconic look of a DJ or DD), are a fluted bezel and stick markers........all other variations are nothing more than that.........nice but just not the same as the original and best........

Went to the AD today. The scale definitely tipped in favor of the Roman dial. I learned that there is no gray dial, it's actually called black (though it's clearly not actually black but more of a charcoal). And slate only comes with the green numerals.
Now I need to compare to a black stick.

I prefer the slightly more elegant look of the Roman numerals.

Totally sticks...except the black roman on black dial. That one is pretty stealth!

I love both, always wanted Roman Numerals, but the white dial djii does not come in that style, just the stick dial, which I love too
