This is the perfect example of why I disagree with those that say, "A watch is just a watch." a lot of the time, it's a hell of a lot more. Great story.

This a wonderfull watch and you are lucky to own it..
Now all among us that want to know how much ..?
Ideally I will pay 4.000 as is ....
and 8.000 with the addition of some minor details that are needed such as
the bracelet-ends 20mm instead of 19mm, the bezel insert short minute markers
instead of long between 0 and 15 and original box with papers.

4K or 40K...no difference....you cant put a monitary value on a family heirloom... I think if my father did I might not have it today...but for auguments sake I have it insured for
11K.....

Tha's amazing. I'd love to talk to or contact "Bob Ridley" I have an old 18K Rolex Datejust that needs some repair to the band. It was passed to me after my grandfater passed away about 15 years ago. I am afraid to wear it because of the state of the band.

I recently purchased a SS Sub/Date that I wear every day but would love to have the gold watch fixed up so I can wear it as a dressy watch.

Thanks for the post this gives me hope that it can be repaired and not just replaced.
