It's a great friendly forum with lots of good watch information with an international flair.
I can't think of a better place to chat with people from all over the world. Definitely not a waste of time.

I don't feel that any of the time I have spent here has been a "waste"... I have learned more than any bimbo at the AD ( Ben B....E (fill in the dots) ) could have ever tought me about watches. You always have to seperate the wheat from the chaff on anything you do online. I have yet to have to do that with this forum...
Just my input..... |

1. This is the only forum I'm a member of where the members don't go after one another and we don't get regular troll activity.
2. I love all the info you guys share and I learn more and more everyday whether its from members like me or the Mod's or watch pros, the info is invaluable!! 3. Truly damaged people with problems need a place to go where other damaged people with the same problems can commiserate with each other!! |

1. Bo and Jocke's amazing knowledge and insights into All Things Rolex ... of course, many others here too are very helpful and knowledgeable! I always learn a lot and enjoy the questions, information, and stories.
2. JJ's love affair with his platty!! 3. Gendanken a/k/a/ SIR putting the slap-down on those who ask fer it. As to whether I love the TRF forum as much as I love my watch .... um, NO! Although TRF helps me appreciate my watch even more. |

4. I've always known about Rolex, but now I really KNOW about Rolex. I've learned a ton from everyone here in the few months I've been around. 5. It seems everyone here wants to help everybody with about anything. I think that's great! It's hard to find that kind of generosity anywhere nowadays. THANKS TO EVERYONE!!!! I'll continue to sit back; listen & learn.

I agree with some of the earlier statements: TRF provides me with a community where I can meet people who are as interested in watches and Rolex as I am. For me it's about sharing my love for watches with others who understand me.

I joined this forum to learn about Rolex, but stayed because of the friendly people! And now, I know much more about Rolex than my hubby. He didn't even realize that the GMT has a new ceramic bezel (until I told him). Sheesh!

I joined because I met JJ on another watch forum. He brought me over here and I've never looked back.
When I came over, there weren't a lot of members. If you look at my sig line, I'm member #156 and I think TRF was around for a year or so then. We had a lot of fun then, as we do now, Thing about it is you could read through all of the posts then in about 20 minutes Uncle-AJ brought most of the original members over from another place as well. As a result, those that weren't banned from there, were done so as soon as it was found out that they belonged here. That other place said TRF would never survive. I joined over there to get banned just to not feel left out We hijacked every thread from the get go. Nothing was sacred The quality of people then are the same as they are now. People who have class, and would go out of their way for someone else here. I've had lunch and a few beers with Chip. He is a great person and if I had the chance to do it again, I would in a heartbeat. I still ask him a question that has to do with everything technical. Thanks Chip My wife and I were invited to spend the weekend at C.J. and his wife's house last year. We had never met in person before, only talked on the phone for a year and a half prior. You know what, as soon as we met we hugged each other like long lost buddies. I can't even begin to tell you how much fun we had together those four days. The wives hit it off just the same. We laughed, ate (tomato pie, provolone, cannolis) and drank like there was no tomorrow. Craig's family id just the same. I even introduced Craig's wife to another kind of coffee. He'll never forgive me for that one. Even my friends and family that have a Rolex watch think I'm nuts for being so into them as I am. For me, it's a hobby. But TRF is a home away from home. It's like the corner bar where everyone knows your name. It's fun, knowledgeable, and friendly. There isn't a better place on the Internet to hang out. But I keep coming back because of the people. That what TRF has been and always will be about

Well said everyone. This the first forum I have been involved in and have enjoyed it so much I'm afraid to check out any others b/c I wouldn't have time for anything else. This is a great place to hang out with a real community feel and a ton of humour. Just glad to be a part of it.

Al (Alcan) has been a member on this forum for over a year. I must admit that I was slightly amused at how he'd tear down the stairs to his office every morning to log onto TRF with his first coffee......do the same when he got home from work.....and even log on in the middle of the nights when insomnia robbed him of a good night's sleep. After that year had gone by, and he had called me into his office about............ooohhh......a thousand times to say...."Read this!" or..."Check THIS out!"......I began to look forward to reading the posts because mere "names" had begun to take on distinct personalities that I quickly recognized. So....about a month ago, I decided to register as a member and check it out myself. I struggled a bit at first trying to find my way around, but once I found my way, I quickly discovered the reason why Al is so obsessed with this forum. I've learned a lot about watches that I knew nothing about before, and although I know I'll never know all the "technical" stuff that Al does, I instinctively know what I like, and what I don't like, and at the same time, I've enjoyed being excited for members when they show their treasured watches, or post pictures of their new purchases. I've learned a lot by reading all the posts and discovering peoples personalities. I've discovered qualities I'd like to strive for, and at the same time, I've recognized the ones I hope I never develop. Most importantly, my life has been enriched because I've met the most wonderful people here and the absolute BEST thing about this forum is that it has the most amazing moderators. They share in our fun, encourage our participation, guide us through the rocky areas, make us laugh until we cry, and handle things in such a way that this place always maintains its dignity and credibility. As for the technical part of what they do....I can't begin to imagine the amount of hours that go into keeping this place running but I for one am very very grateful to them all. It's wonderful to share a passion for something with others....especially those you come to know and respect. We all have our dreams.......for some...those dreams come true sooner than they do for others, but as many have mentioned in the time I've been here......for watches...particularly Rolex....the thrill, the joy and the satisfaction is in the hunt. Al and I are looking at retirement in about 3 years. There's been a few things we wanted to do for the kids this past year, so we're trying to "take care of business" before we allow ourselves the luxury of more purchases, but in the meantime, I am thrilled to be able to share in the joy that others experience when they get a new Rolex...........or ANY watch for that matter....especially if it's a "first." Most importantly.......I am so grateful for all the joy I get from the new people that have come into my life here. The girls in the coffee shop are all class acts and it's been wonderful getting to know them and I LOVE when the guys drop in (Joe.....y'all keep comin' back, ya hear?) to toss in a few comments that make us girls howl with laughter. In closing.............(Al of the "Oh for God's sake get to the point!" will no doubt be rolling his eyes by now) finding this forum is one of the best things that's happened in my life. Thanks guys! (and gals!) |

Nance, you said that rather succinctly! (I'm serious!!)
This is what my hubby says about my communication style: "First, you tell me what you're about to tell me. Then, you tell me. And then, you tell me what you've told me!" He says this with love, of course! Great post!

I think JJ wants his "Skype call count" to exceed his "TRF post count!"

It's either this or a porn site, and this is certainly more beneficial.
Seriously, this is a great part of a daily routine. |

This place is full of informative, entertaining, helpful and friendly people. TRF is a great place where good people hang out to talk about Rolex and the lives of people that wear them.
A toast to everyone who makes TRF a great place, you know who you are!
