This is a great thread. Thank you for all the great feedback and help.
I used to collect other "collectibles" and I've found that as the collection grew, I appreciated each additional item less and less. That said, I really don't want to sell any of this collection. I am proud of what I've been able to attain and also love the fact there are others as nuts as I am here on the forum! I know there's a lot of "this or that" type threads. I didn't want this to become that (and it hasn't). I enjoy seeing how others process these types of situations. In the end, I will be proud to "scale up" here. |

Id keep the vintage SD and the sub, dump the other ones and I'd add a Rose Gold 1803, or an all gold GMT.

Seems to me you have a thing for divers. If I were in your shoes, I would sell the Daytona and the DD to fund a black dial YG Sub and then purchase a WG Sub with the funds you have set aside. A collection of divers like that would be absolutely sensational! Just my .02! Good luck!

So the idea of a YG Black Dial has always interested me. It's a watch, for whatever reason, that doesn't get much love.

I had one of my dear friends( a true Rolex aficionado and multiple Rolex owner) tell me that there was only one full gold Rolex, meaning the DD. Until he saw my 116718!!!!!!!!! If you like the 116618 or 16618 with the black dial, go for it and enjoy! Best of luck

Are you watches are sporty and that gold day date looks a little out of place to me. You want a gold GMT, which I think will look very nice in the collection. I would sell off the gold DD to fund the GMT. Just my opinion. Good luck!

Ok Gentlemen, the frost is on the pumpkin (as some say, or not)!
The Day-Date has on hold pending funds (Monday). The tribal counsel is now in session to decide the fate of the following villagers: Which is next to go? 1) Service dial red 2) LV 3) Zenith Daytona ... Or None? : ) So I wore the LV to dinner last night. Have you ever done that? Wear the watch that you think you will sell - only then to keep it because "oh this is too nice" pops into your head?! I'd love to give the Daytona to my wife, but she refuses to wear it and instead insists on something much less expensive. The service Red is just, modern meets vintage. Lume on a Red 1680? Kinda cool. The saga continues. And with some help of some friends, we are on a hunt for a 1665 double red (likely mk 4). |

And if your wife won't take the Daytona, you can always give it to me! |

I would let the LV go then the Daytona. LVs can always be found again. The zenith Daytona is my favorite Daytona. If you couldn't convince the wife to wear it then you could sell it.
With all these sales, I would expect a platinum watch. DDII glacier maybe?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The Zenith, both black and white, are amazing. That's how I ended up with this one from HQ Milton.
I really thought my wife would "take" it. The funny thing, she just knows that it's "expensive" but has no real idea of what it's worth. No platinum. I don't own any platinum watches, just one platinum ring (my undergrad school ring - it's what hillbillies like me do when you get a little money). So the hunt is on for a proper 1665 double red, again with the help of some friends. Quote:

A white gold or platinum piece would give your collection more color consistency
