The correct movement for a 1961 GMT Master should be caliber 1565 with the "butterfly" rotor.

Rolex movement marked 1575 likely. Same basic movement as used in Submariners and Date Justs of similar date and with the GMT function for 1675.

best of luck. M

Call me crazy but I'm still thinking of buying the watch I've got the price down to 3500.00 because of the issues noted. I'm really thinking the watch was sent to Rolex and they loaded it up with service parts;( I haven't had a look at the movement yet but if its correct and the case is so nice It might be worth it. It would be a daily wearer. Any comments??

If it's from '61, it should have the 1565 movement.
