I have an omega and GMT on home insurance as itemized with insurance cover of £9000 and it added £40 to my yearly premium - no brainer for me

And that's worldwide including accidental damage and loss.

Shop around !

A few friends have recommended certain jewellers within my area but they charge a 1% fee and I'd like to fish around first and get a decent deal. What are your thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Thanks guys. What paperwork do you need to proceed with? Does it have to be from Rolex or an AD or can my regular shop in Hatton Garden print me a valuation to submit?

My M&S home contents insurance covers such items (expensive watches & jewellery ) without having to detail the items. So one is insured without having to pay additional premiums as long as the value of all the contents is within the overall limit - which is relatively high.

Question for users of T H March regarding the valuation, did you get an appraisal for the current RRP or 2nd hand replacement cost? Jeweller suggested insuring it for the RRP but T H March say they only replace like for like so not quite sure how to go about this...

(forgot to mention watch model is 16013)

The best I have had was Chubb Masterpiece. They replaced a stolen YG YM in a week. All I sent in was a crime number. Outstanding for high end stuff.

Second that!

Based on this have just moved my policy from Halifax to M&S for the same monthly cost but all my watches covered at home and away

Did you have it valued at the cost of a new watch?

+1 for M&S...

Although you'll find it a lot cheaper to take out a new policy when it comes to renewal, ours was due yesterday and I saved over £100 by getting a new quote as opposed to accepting the price they'd quoted to renew the existing policy; a bit of a pain but well worth it.

I hear good things about Hiscox but the level of cover they offer would be a bit OTT for our requirements.
