I want to note that the Steel 44MM wears more balanced on my wrist than the Diver. The Diver seems to weigh just as much if not more than the Steel 44MM because the weight is more concentrated (top heavy?)

I am pretty sure I am going to let go a few of my pieces (IWC, Panerai, and Linde Werdelin), maybe keep the Rolex EXP2 42MM (every collection needs to have one Rolex right?) and concentrate on AP. I don't think I can just keep one AP, I don't want to go APs#$t while it is being serviced and be without it for weeks or months.

Hmm...what should I get next now that I am certain the Diver and 44MM Novelty are keepers?
Well you have steel ROOs covered so what about a gold RO? Haven't seen many gold jumbos round here...

When you boys finally buy into Platinum, then we need not worry about precise nomenclature!

But then there would be risk of someone calling platinum (palladium) or misspelling it as plati-um (yes I've seen it.)

One thing that does not come across on fotos, for whatever reason, is that the dial actually looks grey in real live, not white. They have changed the dial in the 2014 edition, so this is not the same dial colour that the old ss 42mm had. The dial looks like that of the novelty carbon with grey dial that is coming out this fall or next spring, depending on who you ask. This was a massive positive surprise for me, i bough this watch a month ago.

Its halfway down this page http://forums.timezone.com/index.php...89#msg_6707134

This is incorrect. Same dial as when released.

Great thread and great pics guys.

I did the unthinkable today. I went to the AP Boutique and enquired about the RO Chrono. I said to the sales girl that my Daytona was much nicer. She then brought over the Novelty in SS. It was love at first site. I now have an AP Novelty. Most definitely a fine watch and the only watch I ever need - if never actually means never haha

It's an awesome watch! I love mine as well. I guess the nature progression on this forum is to graduate up to the RG 44 MM from the 44MM SS, but this is one time Im going to go against the grain and keep this one.
