I would go with the sub, rugged enough to withstand any activity you may find yourself doing, especially if you will be in the water.

Mine was more of a comment than a solution, an idle aside, if you will.

Travel + GMT = awesomness, especially if you travel overseas :-) So easy to change the hour hand without stopping the watch and keeping your local time on other hour hand at the same time!!!

Since a Daytona is the distracted focus of my desire, I say Daytona goes everywhere you do. Acknowledging the Sub is in rotation, unless you're diving I see no advantage. It's likely more recognized than the Daytona. But if recognition (lack of it) is a factor, the AP will trump the others.
Personally I have never encountered situations on holiday where I felt I was in danger of attracting unwanted attention with my watch (and that includes a recent trip to Naples Italy but I was wearing vintage Omega Speedmaster). Daytona/Sub/AP ROO...each are up to the task. Take what makes you happiest!

Sub will do the trick! its got enough presence being a Rolex, its perfect for any beach/water activities, and you won't stand out like a sore thumb wearing something big like a DDii LoL enjoy your trip brign the Sub....another option bring NOTHING and buy something while you are there!

Which watch to travel with!? Pic attached

I like taking my 1680, good conversation piece as many travel with Subs and it's unique having an older one. Just had it pressure tested too, which helps with piece of mind getting in the water.
