All jokes aside, I hope the guy lived. It actually is a pretty cool piece if it survived the crash and still works. If I lived after that accident, I would keep it to wear as a trophy...

I believe the story of the SD is from a motorcycle accident...

Actually I doubt this piece authenticity. This one seems to have a white ring surrounding the Date aperture. No small second markers beneath "Swiss Made" either.

I was hoping this thread was going to cheer me up. Come on guys - some of you must have watches with some scuffs and scratches on they can't all be wrapped in cotton wool.

Mine.

This thread is a great idea can't wait to see some gnarly wear and use! Unfortunately my watches only have a few normal scuffs and scratches... Nothing to tell stories about :-)

I wiped off dirt every hour on my subc for the first couple of months but as time pass I don't bother cleaning anymore.

I wear my sub every where -- it's been splunking (cave exploring), snorkeling, skydiving, white water rafting, zip lining, rappelling...

...after all that, it was the office door that gave me this beautiful dented lug.

'67 GMT, does have a replacement bracelet now, the old one had just had it. Plexi used to be a lot more scratched, but it's got a couple of deep scratches in it still.

I really enjoyed seeing the cleaning steps... it was entertaining
Any plans on polishing it or you prefer to keep it as is?
