Yes, that's a good sign. I've tried to collect some information on calibre 3186 in Explorer 16570 and GMT 16710, and to sum it up: Explorers with the Rolex engraved flanged produced and delivered this year most certainly has the upgraded movement. I also have an M0-serial Explorer (like yours), and it behaves the same way. My AD was convinced it was equipped with the 3186, although he said he needed to pop it open to be certain. But I didn't do that. It is not vital for me, that my particular Explorer II has the 3186 or 3185.

If you'd like to know more about the information I have compiled it is on another forum: TZ; I think you know about it. Go to the Modern Rolex forum and flip through my posts. I use the same user-name, and I haven't made that many post yet so it should be easy to find. Have been around for many years, but just recently started to contribute to some Rolex forums around the Internet. In one of the post I have attached a link to a short clip of the behaviour of the hands of my watch. Quite a few have confirmed same behaviour in GMT-IIC and in GMT:s and Explorers where we now can be pretty certain that they have the 3186.

Here is mine:

Best and congratulations,

A

This reply was supposed to be a comment to the 3186 issue earlier...

Pretty interesting! It would be really neat if mine has the new movement, but like you, I'm happy regardless

Damn Karis nice watch. I have the balck face, yes as you know I purchased it from Tom, and YOUR white face is just stunning. Just like your other two, the watch looks great on your wrist. Please keep the pictures coming.

I never wanted an Explorer II until I got one. Sounds strange I know, but as you know; it is a great wearing watch. Perfect fit, finish, balance and style. For those that do not own one they just will not understand. I wear all my others on a regular bases, and yes they all make me smile; but, I always pick the Explorer II when in doubt. Finally, you have a great memory!

I totally understand! I'd always admired the white Expy from afar but it was never on my wish list. Then something struck and I started reading more about them and seeing photos from others who own them....that was enough to peak my interest! It's definitely one of the less talked about models, but I hope that changes...it's classic!

....my memory sometimes gets me in trouble...

Absolutely one of Rolex's best watches for all the above mentioned reasons. I am quite partial to them as a lot of you know. Karis, I have tried and tried to get my wife to wear some, any of my Rolexes (she has 2 ladies, TT DJ and yg/diamond ) but all she wears is my old Luminox. I showed her your post and she said "No way! I don't want to catch what y'all have got!" (The Addiction) Then she said, "You mean there are GIRLS on there, too?!" I told her yes, but the only anatomy shown is the wrist. It's not one of those sites.
