34mm is where it's at, I like 36mm watches too, but prefer no date midsizes which really limits the size to 34mm for the most part. Obviously there's exceptions like the 6424 and explorer 1's and what not, but the dial options aren't as nice as they were on the 1002 OPs and 6426s

Should have 42 and 44mm to get a more accurate reflection of TRF's tastes.

Generally speaking, a dress watch in the 36mm range always looks good. Sports watches in the 40-41mm are acceptable.

After owning the 36mm and 40mm for a few weeks, I voted 36mm. So classy and understated, perfect for Mon-Thursday!

40mm max - tried the 42mm but found it too big.

I favor 40 to 42mm, but lug shape has a lot to do with it.

Not sure I could choose. I wouldn't want a bigger Sub, so could say 40. But I don't want a bigger DD either. 36mm is perfect. Guess I could live with 38 or 39, but not the DDII.

X2.

Voted for 36mm. Now of my attention over the past few years have been directed to the Rolex Professional Series watches, but if I were to keep only one watch in my current collection , it would be my Datejust 16234. My grail is the Day-Date 118238. Both are 36mm and are classics in their own right. Not a fan of anything over 42mm.

i think it would be interesting to see preferred watch case/wrist size ratio.....for example a 40mm watch case on a 7.25 inch wrist has a ratio of 5.52 where at that same ratio, a 44.16 mm on an 8 inch wrist is in the same proportion (my planet ocean chrono), holding wrist conformation constant. So to say a 40mm dress watch is ridiculous, maybe not on a 8 inch or plus wrist....and you know what they say about wrist sizes...... :)

dress watch 40mm

sport 42-45

dial/wrist ratio 5.2

I'll wear 40-47 mm, depending on the comfort and overall look.

36 or 40 but not bigger for me. 40 is my favorite (so not "or above.")
