Does a Summer Solstice have anything to do with how many sec.+ - my watch loses? I think when the equator lines up with the crows nest in Holland, or maybe it is Amsterdam, that is when Rolexes are most accurate. I don't believe it, my watch just gained another sec. Do you think it was because I left it face down, or maybe it was face up. maybe I left it on its side. Who knows, I just love TRF.

I guess they could use GPS devices that connect to atomic clocks in satellites, or they could connect to atomic clocks via the internet, or they could use other communications devices to obtain atomic clock time.

Atomic clocks are very accurate.

I don't know, I suppose you could start with some simple arithmetic. For example, what time is my watch now? What time is my watch 10 days from now? How much time has actually elapsed according to Atomic time? Hmm... subtract? Divide? One day, you will be on a hospital bed and you will thank God that the doctors at your side are obsessing over A FEW DECIMALS.

You actually have the time to worry about what other people are worrying about?

You are more organized than I am.

There are a whole lot of correct time sources. The clock on the toolbar in Windows XP and later syncs to a correct time source. So does my cable box. So does my cellphone. The US Government maintains a website that conforms to the official government/atomic clock time within .2 seconds.

You don't check it every five minutes. If the watch loses time noticeably within even a few hours it indicates the watch is damaged and needs to be repaired immediately.

All checking the accuracy of the watch entails is setting the watch to a correct-time source and then checking back the next day to see how far off the source it is. Depending how anal they are, some people reset their watches very often. Others just do it every other month when they have to manually change the date for a month with only 30 days

I have my Rolex screensaver synced to the atom clock, So when the GMT IIc pops up it is showing the correct time to the second, My DJ gained 5 secs yesterday, drives me nuts.

When my watch was new I was obsessed with accuracy. I found it to be very accurate so I stopped checking regularly. I checked it again the other day and it was still running on time.... It's a game you play. The movement has its own life, speeding up, slowing down. You have a relationship. Like a pet whose health you're interested in!
