I wish I aged as well as a Rolex watch. That, sir, is a thing of beauty.

Your story hit home to me as I just turned 57-today. How often I take for granted the precious gift of life and how unimportant some of things I obsess about are. I am sorry your father passed at such a young age. Happy holidays to you and your family.

Nice story Boyo, glad you posted. It puts a number of threads that appear here in real life perspective I think.
My dad was also a WW2 vet, joined up when he was 20 in '39 and served throughout, he died two years ago aged 92. I was lucky to have the years with him others don't have that time.
