What's everyone's view of the thickness vs the SubC? Is it noticeable?

This is a most disappointing display of moderator support (or lack thereof). I thought the mods were here to protect us ... even from ourselves.
I would like to request a refund on my 2015 pledge. Those funds may be required to cover future shipping expenses of some sort. |

SD4000 is a nice piece for sure but I can't get over the brownish looking dial. Due to the matte finish or thicker crystal or combo of both. Really noticeable when it's side by side with a SubC. Also seems top heavy unlike the previous gen.

The cure...
...maybe is to not buy now but wait for the new movements to be implemented? Should buy you a year or two :-)

I'm probably in the minority, but as much as I wanted the SDC4000 to work out for me .. I had to pass on it after trying it on!
Looks great on every wrist but my own. The 16600 though does it for me |

At the bookstore yesterday - Barnes & Noble is part of the same conspiracy as TRF and the mods?!? WTH!
I believe Dr. Evil must be behind all of this |

That wouldn't have any effect unless you banned DavidSW. He makes it too easy!

I'm biased, but best SS sports model IMO. Go for it!

I actually prefer the dial on my SD4000 versus my SubC ND. My AD stuck this edition in my bag after the purchase. Enjoy your SD! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes its noticable. Not so much in the thickness of the case but the caseback is thicker which makes the SD4000 sit higher on the wrist. Also the crystal protrudes from the bezel (close to flush on SubC) which adds to the overall height. All needed for the 4000ft depth rating.

Such an amazing watch. I knew I was a goner the first time I saw it in picture and definitively hopelessly attracted to it the first time I saw it in person.
It is surprisingly comfortable for its 15mm thickness and also well balanced. Simply the ultimate diver to which all others are measured against. notice also that there is only ONE sea dweller, no dial choice, no gold, neither date or no-date choice. Only one model, the form follow the function, the ultimate diver and tool watch. |

Agreed. But in a good way. I like the way it sits a little higher yet fits comfortably under my shirt cuffs. The protrusion of the crystal adds a little dimension to the watch. In other words a little more bling in the way the light plays off the raised edges. I find myself glancing down from time to time admiring the different levels of the watch from the side view, if that makes any sense! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

As for being top heavy, that's probably an individual subjective determination. Some may find it so, others not. Personally, I find no problem at all. And I like that the crystal is 50% thicker than the SubC. |

I wouldnt have noticed either if the AD didnt mention to me. Put it side by side with a SubC in the flesh and it will become more apparent. |

I have never seen so much cruelty toward a TRF member! Every member knew of the allure of the SD4000, and tauntEd him anyway. Oh, the shame....
