When I feel stressed about my companies or life itself I always think about how much worse things could be. For example, people currently living in Nepal that endured a massive earthquake. Then, take a few deep breaths, spark a cigar, and sip on tequila. You'll be just fine, G!

Gracias! Heartbeat is ok, so it is all stress Doc said it is very good that I stress out at the gym, I am just amazed at how, even after de-stressing daily, something has just pushed me close to the limit.

If it is any use, I find a long walk cures most anxiety-related issues.

Thank you. It looks ok, just have to vent off a bit.

Do this over and over again and you'll feel the anxiety subside greatly. Also, take a step back and slow down a little if you can - see your physician. It's a terrible and frightening feeling, like going out of your mind. But there's nothing wrong with you at all (your not going crazy), it's just your body/mind going into "fight-or-flight" responses. This goes all the way back to our early human development, this was usually triggered by the hunt, a wild tiger out to eat you, but now this response is triggered by modern day stress and worry. I hope this helps... and sorry it happened.
It does help, gracias very much!!!!

At any rate, I don't think it's appropriate to seek to label this experience or to suggest some regimen, except to say that there are activities that when I engage in them, I am so focused on that activity that there is no room for intrusive thoughts or emotions.

You know yourself well enough to know what works for you and I must say that having a supportive wife and family is certainly a blessing.

I agree. Maybe I should play the 'Solar Cell' game....drive to the beach and....just sit there!!!

I'm confident it's nothing, but if you are in your fifties, maybe you should have a checkup to be sure. Be well my friend.
My mistake was to still check emails while having a cigar. I agree, need to really fire up and do/think about NOTHING! Fortunately, lab came back ok

Do you see a doctor regularly for a check up and standard blood work?

I also think that triggered it. Yes, I do. And I have to admit 99% of times lab comes back A-ok. (Except that time just after New Years......)

Gerardo, you have a very hectic, busy life, from what I see here. Take time to find your happy place, wherever you may be. Always try to take time during your day for yourself. My only other thought is that diet and excersise play a vital role in your overall health. Take care and be well

Gracias Brian. I agree on sit and exercise, doctor keeps telling me that is why I can stand so many things. I like to play hard (food, cigars) so I have to work hard; otherwise I would weigh double of my current weight and have other issues.

Thankfully, I have TRF to wander off and enjoy my hobby

You work hard.
You play hard.
Maybe you should rest hard - for a few days at least - until you can't stand the boredom another second. Just thinking maybe some calm, still time might do you some good for a change.
Anyway I hope you feel better and that it never happens again.

Gerardo, happy to hear that your appointment went well. I have to agree with you as well as the others here, stress probably is rearing it's ugly head. Your stress at work combined with your hectic travel schedule has to be wreaking havoc on your body and mind.
Maybe it's time to unplug and relax a bit. Easy to say I know but stress can kill you. Several years ago I went through a similar situation. Hospital appt with all kinds of blood work as well as a stress test showed nothing wrong at all physically. That in of itself took a load off of my mind. Please try to take some time for just you and your wonderful family. You know that the TRF family will always be here for you my friend.

Gracias, really gracias! I agree, need to wind down a bit and take it easy; even 3-4 days of real 'quitting' would help. And fortunately, I have TRF family to talk (ok, write)

Frankly G, your life exhausts me! LOL!

But in a good way, you work hard and you play hard all the while putting your family first. The problem that I notice is that even when you are in a period of down time you are always organizing a family trip or a get together or even when you cook on the grill unannounced guests seem to arrive.

I would schedule some mental health time if I were you, and remember one good night sleep isn't always enough to "recharge" it's putting yourself in the right frame of mind.

Gracias! I agree, the price of fame

Honestly, I am working on a weekend plan to unwind...oddly, as I sit at the airport waiting for my delayed flight...

Thank you! I agree that it is very important to 'just check it' with MD, it gives us great peace of mind when we find the meds are ok.
