I disagree. Many can afford it but wish to prioritize such a purchase.

Only to the Wifey for the first couple of watches. Then I got smart and bought one for her. No more questions about why I need a Rolex.

Just tell them you don't need to justify anything, you wear it cause you want it! Like a boss!

Maybe there's a difference in rationale between UK and US. Culturally the US celebrates success and the trappings that it brings. Here in the UK you're more likely to find someone for whom you feel you need to rationalize. Personally I couldn't care less, I wear mine with pride.

My wife is fine with it and has here own....so all is well.

Whenever I want something badly enough, I can always find ways to justify it. I like the way you break it down to cost per day. That's how I do it. I always think if I can cut back a coffee a day, then I can pretty pay for anything. Then I go back to buy that extra coffee anyway :)

No kids, no wife (anymore), my money, no justification needed. I wanted them, I bought them

I don't buy a new car every few years (my truck is 8 years old and still going strong), don't mod the ones my wife and I do have, don't take numerous international trips each year, don't own a house larger than I need, don't spend hundreds of dollars on a shirt, shoes, or pair of pants, nor do I buy every new electronic device that comes out because I need the newest thing. That's how I usually respond to people who question why I would spend so much on a watch. It's my "thing" as they have their "thing."

My mom mentioned my watch recently and I reminded her that she could of had one for the loss she took when she traded in the Jeep I told her not to buy for a Cadillac after 7 months of ownership.

You know what is cool about a Rolex? You can step off a plane anywhere in the world with nothing but the shirt on your back and you can sell your Rolex and start life over instantly.

much math, but not enough. try writing pi with 20 digits, divide the rolex price by pi to the 10th power, then you will be getting somewhere.

^^ does this make sense? ^^

just buy the damn watch, cheaper than a pack of cigarettes a day, and will not kill you

justify what to whom?

who gives a 'blank' what anyone else says, thinks, or does when it comes to what i spend on anything....

if they want to write the check than they can say what they want....until then, screw em all

lol....

Justify, why does one need to justify what he/she covets if they are not hurting anyone. I am proud of my watches for what they are, not others opinion of my choices.

I make sure I can truly afford to pay for it in cash. If the answer is yes, takes the subjective out of it.

I am envious of the utopian households a lot here must enjoy. I DEFINITELY need to rationalize with my wife. And sometimes even myself. I like the dollar per day break down, makes me feel better :)

Never considered this, but it nice knowing I've got this going for me. Should I be carrying around the box and papers with me too?

My money, my choice of subscribing to whichever poison I prefer. At least the watch disease is better than the lung disease, and last time I checked no one has the right to demand smokers to justify their habit.

The title of your post is "Need To Justify Your Rolex?" I answered your question. .Wasn't that your intent, to have members answer your question?
