I've owned with and they are exceptional pieces. The FC has a little more 'pop' to it vs ceramic. Both are super comfortable. I will say though the ceramic goes very stealth and dark on the wrist. That was the reason I sold mine--too mono-tone. Hence, the anthracite would be ideal.
I will say in discussing things with AP last week, they made it VERY clear the ceramic is extremely hard to produce and they MAY discontinue use of it as a case material in the future. They were noncommittal on that however. My .02. |

Ceramic is a harder and probably more durable material but what AP does with FC gives it more character than ceramic by a mile in my opinion. I really like the ceramic / FC combination and that would be my vote.

only good thing with FC not one look alike, but they are not so resistant, and the looks cooler imo.
Thought of the ceramic diver, discontinued, less than 600 made i get mine in 14 days, so excited.. |

For daily wear, the ceramic will hold up better.
I don't wear my Alinghi Team that often so the FC finishing still looks new but i've seen examples where the edges can become slightly rounded after long term wear. |

Are we sure the ceramic was discontinued? Met with an AD yesterday who said there are more coming to the states, just in very limited production.

I hear conflicting reports. Black face ceramic (26402) discontinued, only anthracite one now in production (26405). Some stocks of the black face still around though. The 26402 is not on the website any more as I type this. Not sure whether this is accurate, but this is what I was told.

Both beatiful references. Tough to pic one. I believe my choice between this two would be the Ceramic model. I like the dial better.
Regarding how FC cases hold up in time. I have 1.5 years with my FC Diver and it is still in pristine condition. Good as new. |

They took it off AP website and replaced with new anthracite. Perhaps there are still some out there but as far as I know it is discontinued. Also it was never an easy watch find as the anthracite should also be tough to source.

I'd go with the ceramic. The AP FCs just look 'dirty' to me. I have a ceramic diver and I love the clean lines and finish.

I realize that there may not be much love for the FC. I have owned the FC Diver and the steel, RG, and FC Novelty 44 pieces at one time or another.
I still have the FC44, while the others have moved on. I LOVE the wearability and the look of the FC. Just my .02 |
