My first GMT Master II Bezel Insert Change
Friends,
I had decided to seek out a OEM Pepsi and Black insert for my 16710, and gather my cojones an try the bezel insert swap. I did my homework, read the web pages, and watched the YouTube videos that covered this. I figured the worst that can happen is a scratch and the need for a watchmaker to reattach the bezel for me, so why not? I used a metal spudger that's designed for the iPad in order to pry it off. I covered the tip with some adhesive tape to minimize the danger of a scratch, and bombs away. I'm glad to report I am sporting my new Pepsi bezel insert on my 16710! It really wasn't difficult. I think I will swap out the inserts every few months, but some tentpoles like Pepsi for the Summer months, black for the dead of winter, and just play the rest by ear going back mainly to the Coke. I do confess I like the Coke insert quite a bit (which is why I purchased a Coke), but this method adds a lot of easy and inexpensive variety to my collection. Thanks to this community to introducing me to this convention!
