does this mean there is no way to know how old an AP made after 2018 is? Unless you have the papers of course.

The latest AP’s just have a warranty card with the serial #, warranty #, and description. No purchaser name or date of sale, or AD name. If you register the watch with AP using the warranty #, it will tell you when the warranty expires and you can back into the original sales date. Only way to do it.

I purchased a Royal Oak Chrono back in November, 2019 and the serial # starts with LT. It appears AP has gone to a random serial number system.

My ROC purchase in Nov 2019 starts with JC. A month later picked up another piece and this one starts with MY. I definitely think AP has gone to a random serial system now.
