If Rolex introduce a perpetual calendar, as some have suggested to me, then it is possible as it is no longer the flagship complication.

Not unreasonable to think. I wonder if the YM II was a slower seller than they'd expected so they decided to add tt and ss. I would think that a re-release of the Pepsi in SS would dwarf even the BLNR's success and they must have known this. Would there be any rationale for not wanting uber successful SS models? Could it potentially effect the sales of pm pieces across the lineup? Meaning, if there was a pepsi, a coke, a batman in stainless steel, a blue sub, red dial sub etc. would this cause consumers to not even bother with the PM pieces?

I wouldn't be shocked of rolex sells more YM2 than skydwellers. Most buyers are looking for an aesthetic and not a specific function with watches.

If alpino thinks it's possible, I'll take his word for it.

One clue would be all the different variants including the dial colors and leather strap option that makes the TT and SS much less likely option(hope I'm wrong). YM II started as a plain gold watch with no variants and worked its way down to SS.
If YM II SS is 18k. I'd say sky dweller will be 20+ for SS.
Will not see many buyers for that price range. You can get a near new gold Daytona with ceramic bezel and leather strap for that.
Just my naive outlook

I'm afraid that I have to agree with this.

I doubt it. Apart from some highly sought after SS vintage pieces I simply canīt see people paying 25k+ on a Rolex SS watch.

SS SkyD is coming already!!

A trusted source told me there's a very good chance Rolex will produce SS SkyD in not too distant future. The catch, however, is that it won't have the annual calendar and the gmt functions. It will retain its 42mm case though... and will be marketed under the name Date Just 42.

Ok, I'm just kidding.... LoL

@ OP, I would buy one if they did, and I do think they will eventually.
