They should give you a coke with your name on it, Dr. Tom. :) You can totally rock that DD, just sayin'. The Romans are sharp. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the incoming!

Really looks fantastic! Crazy how the DDII never did much for me but the DD40 has me hooked.

Beautiful! And it wears very handsome on your wrists!
Honestly it makes your collection complete IMO.
It is also precious metal, just like most your others. I think all your others are PM, except for the recent SS Daytona.
Also, I think it is the quietest watch you will own.
Your watches are pretty stealthy being WG or Platinum, but this one is even more understated.

I await the incoming thread! :D

Tom, I think you're at the stage where your collection needs a DD40

Did you also try on the 228206 40mm platinum but with the criss cross dial I think that is even more stunning than this one and a perfect addition to your collection.

Hey Tom, spent a lot of time at a few ADs myself yesterday. Tried on the DD40 and yeah I thought it was quite a bit smaller than my DDII, felt more like a 39mm so the three sizes are very distinct. New RNs were not doing it for me.

Well...what can I say? Nothing short of spectacular, my friend. I think the DD looks great on you! Sure, you're more of a sports watch guy (as am I), but that wouldn't be too bad to wear out for a special evening with the wife...

Keep us posted if there are any sudden incomings.

I really like that quadrant dial. As others have noted, sports watches seem to be your preferred models.

However, nothing compares to that President bracelet IMO!!

Great shots! Your collection needs one of these! I'd personally go YG or RG with a fluted bezel to be completely different than anything you own.

And with as much as you've spent at the AD, they should be okay with you "wasting" their time!

There is no reason why you should not have a DD2 or DD40 in your stable. You pushed me to get a Smurf, now it's your turn to get the DD!

On a side note, you can't tell me you weren't at least a little giddy when popping open the clasp on the presidential bracelet. It's defenitly way more comfortable than the oyster band IMO.

Great pics, Tom, thanks for sharing.

Based on your comments, it sounds like a Diamond Dial Platona for your Better Half is the right move at this point --- and then you can swap Platonas with her! Win-Win!

Platinum DD40 is really stunning. You can buy it for your wife, and I believe it can match with your Platona very well.

My AD always offers me water. I guess I should ask for a coke next time. I want a diet coke in the new metal cans.
