Yes but aluminum by the 100,000's has faded, scratched, broken, etc... You do the math.

I am very curious to how my 114060 will look many years down the road...

My wife has a 114060 and wears it daily and everywhere.
Its so scratched up that it doesnt have a single polished pary left on the watch.

Need to take a pic to show

Its $300 to replace. Its higher replacement cost, but nothing extraordinary.
Embrace the change. These new style watches are beauties.
Just like older models

I wear mine pretty much everyday unless I wear my BB, date just which is never or 14060. Daytona when I get dressed up and the sub c holds up well. Glad I bought it brand new. Other than desk dives and a few light scratches on the bracelet. It looks good. What do you guys think? I picked up the Sub C when it first came out, bought it in HK.

All will be sorted at Service time

What are the stains in the numbers on the bezel? Looks like rust in the picture (though I know it isn't rust).

Well in my experience the only inserts to fade are mainly the red and blue colours after many many years of wearing.Yes they can get scratched but with today's mainly pampered watches that should not be any problem. And if they did get scratched so easy to DIY replace, plus not the crazy price for a thin slither of ceramic. And myself have never heard of of a aluminum insert being broken.

I have desk dives on the clasp and I remember this one scratch I have. The person in front of me didn't open the door for me and the thick glass door slammed into my hand and hit my watch

Good eye. It is gelcoat overspray. I need to clean it out as well as clean up the entire watch!

Oh my, a modern Rolex being put through its paces!?!?! And it survived? Whew!

Kidding aside, well done. The way some member around here talk, a modern Rolex is only a piece of jewelry. It's beyond annoying.

Pictures of heavily worn ceramic models?

My 1996 gmt
Note the chip in the crystal at 6 o'clock. I can't remember how that happened. Lots of scratches, something going on on the bezel at 17.... Probably due for a service.... Purchased new in 1996

Purchased my SubC new a few months ago and I’ve worn it every single day since (Obviously). I’ve already managed to scratch the crystal and ding the case in a few spots, plus the usual desk diving marks on the bracelet. I’ve obsessed over keeping it scratch free, and in the process just scratched it even more. I don’t know what I’m so worried about; I highly doubt I’ll ever sell it. I bought the watch to wear it and enjoy it.

Ceramic is invincible. It will always look like a shiny new replacement.

I can say without a shadow of doubt it is not invincible!! Just replaced my BLRO insert and I am not the only one. But it looks nice.

Faded old aluminum bezels sell for a ton of money. It's a highly desirable look that screams vintage class, but which ceramics will never have.

Ceramics crack and get replaced; aluminum take their bangs and just keep on trucking.

Adam, wow never thought about that.

Very interesting, even when a sub c gets old, it won't have the old look.
