It turned out I got REAL lucky, and got a really nice piece at a great price. Thanks to the classy guys in the TRF vintage forum, I learned a lot about what I got.

Yeah, I'm really glad to learn about Chonger on this forum. Great to have a local watchmaker who knows how to handle a vintage and with a Rolex parts account. Great guy, he really spent time go over the details with me: bushings needed replacing, gears not perfectly level, etc...

You're right Lee, it goes both ways - and thanks. For vintage, I should've spent more time learning stuff like original dial variations, bezels, etc... Some of the stuff I still can't tell the difference. ;) Anyway, this next shot is for you:
