I would love a Tudor snowflake sub, but wow the prices are climbing! I declined to by one about 5 years ago for $1800.

Look at that dial and the case. Looks like the old type domed plexi too . The crown guard appears to still have the original brushed finish. You can see the bevel running from the lug to the crown guard, not the re-cutting craps you see lately. That insert completes that GMT IMHO. Must have cost you a bundle as I see some crap pieces selling in the high $9K by our trusted sellers recently. |

You wouldn't believe the price if I showed you the wire receipt! I had a friend in the Bay Area that lined things up for me. :) It's a special watch. I normally collect divers, but wanted one special GMT - this is it. |

I actively look for Tudor subs. Once a year I get a really nice deal but I search every day. I got a Tudor chronotime in blue last year for $225. I think will be my last true deal of the century. It's impossible to find a Tudor sub head for less than $2k

Bay Area? There're only many of them. There're HQ Hamilton and Eric Ku. It pays to have connection, . You probably got it before it went on the open market? From your post it looks like you've got a deal from them, and not paying their retail pricing? I am surprised as these guys are retailers and they know the market well Your GMT is probably the only few here that I can still see the original bevels from the lugs to the end of the crown guards. I have yet seen a re-cut from Bexley, HongKong or ABC that can do that. Probably because it is impossible to cut bevels around the small crown guard corners. |
