Paul Newman Daytona would be my first choice, then a Platona, then the BLRO

Love the Platinum Daytona but since it is an only watch for you then you don't have the Date. Another good choice would be a Sky Dweller. Mixes almost all that you need.
Agreed. Yet, I'd rather do two:DD 40mm; ss sub.

With an open budget, I'd have a hard time choosing between the platinum 40mm DD or platinum Daytona.

The heart says Platona.

A Sky-Dweller would do it for me.

Wow

Thank you all soo for your opinions

Didn't expect 2 pages of replies

Thank you again

I guess it should Be between the Daytona or day date

I find the daydate very useful, function wise

For me if the skydweller had a day indicator I would buy it hands down

And that's one thing that makes me mad about Rolex

No one watch has it all

The Daytona has no date

The daydate has no month

The skydweller has no day

I feel it's done by purpose to make ppl buy the whole collection

And what a beautiful collection it is

Does the Daytona have a more rich perception ?

The general opinion is the metal Of choice is platinum

Is it because it has more class and opulence than YG or RG ?

I'm leaning towards platinum or RG

At the least the rose would hold up better in comparison to the YG

Love the Rose gold

Absolutely stunning

Would you say the RG hold up better than YG since it has platinum in it ?

I haven't seen the new 40mm in person so I will reserve judgement for now.

The Platona is amazing too but I think I would lean towards the DD.

It's really between the daydate 2 plat and RG like the one posted in this thread

The RG is mesmerizing

Not really, maybe in the very long term due to the new everose configuration of materials Rolex has used but I wouldn't worry about it for now. Platinum/WG is a good choice for a one and only as it can be under the radar when you need it to be. The RG is beautiful but I would also have 1 SS for those quieter times.

First of all...don't kid yourself. You have the bug, no 1 watch is going to do it for you.

Second, you are correct...no 1 watch has it all. See my first statement.

But as to your question, I would probably go with the BLRO.

Excuse my ignorance but what is BLRO ?

The black and blue bezel Rolex ?

Neil, you should send us a warning message before you post anything like that again. You nearly took my eye out when I scrolled down to that. Beautiful collection and that's only part of it. Excellent work

Platinum DD, glacier blue dial with sticks. Highly versatile watch, hard to distinguish at first glance from a SS datejust or 36mm OP. This is what I will buy when I get a bit older.
