Sorry for your loss Chris. The void they leave will always be there, my Dad died when I was 14 and my Mum a few years ago. I'm 59 now and still miss them both, Mum most of all because she was always there. It will be tough for a while but soon the memories will give you comfort and make you smile. Best wishes.

My condolences on your loss. I lost my dad over 20 years ago and my mom over 3 years ago. Not a day passes that I don't think of them and feel a loss. Although it gets easier they live on thru you and your children. Their contribution to you is much more than genetic. Best always.

Sorry for you loss, i hope your wife and children's love can be of comfort at this time.

I just had a bad scare myself, I went to see my Dad after work earlier (Mum is away in Oz for a month) to make sure he's managing to look after himself and not starve to death in Mums absence and found he'd been in hospital all day after a stroke. Luckily he had the sense to call an ambulance and got treated in time to prevent too much damage it seems.

I'm sorry. Losing your mother is a tough blow, even when you know it's coming.

It's one of the roughest transitions at any age. Lost mother when I was 6 and dad when I was 25. Now at 57, still miss them and think of them often.

Prayers to you, and hope you find peace.

My condolences on your loss. My mother passed away in March of this year. Sadly we weren't very close. I am very close with my father and can't imagine life without him. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm sorry for your loss Chris. I've lost both my parents. My dad about 10 years ago, and my mom 2 years ago. We all know it's going to happen, but there is truly no way to prepare for it. Take solace in the fact that they live on in your kids. My five year old loves looking at old pictures, especially the ones with him and grandma. When we had to put our Lab down last year, he said that he was in heaven with grandma. It will get easier.

Positive thoughts and prayers sent your way. I, too, felt what you're feeling when my dad died and years later my mother. There is some comfort however, and that is you will always have the memories when they were living. I never forget those memories of my parents.

Sorry for your loss Chris. I lost my grandfather last October and the void is still there. He was my father figure as I lost my father before my life even began. Stay strong and lean on family and friends if need be.

It's the worst feeling in the world for me. I lost my mom exactly 5 years ago and my dad 3 years ago the same month and day of my mom. I knew they were getting up there in age but for both, it was they way they died, I couldn't do anything to help, only support them by being with them everyday. The circle of life is very strange and ominous.

Prayers sent

My condolences Chris. Lost my mother 15 year ago. The only thing I can say is that over time, the pain and emptiness have turned into fond memories.
