Have both, both are classics but Daytona seems more "special" to me.

Lugs look correct and not square like on the sub. Raised crystal and no cyclops is nice. Fully graduated bezel looks great and is more balanced in my opinion. Also can't help but remind me of the legendary milsubs.

If you were looking for a Daytona, 7500 should sound like a bargain
Nailed it Tom!!! Wow, my thoughts exactly, the SDc is really a special piece!!!

Have both , love both . I wear my sub c for daily use and my Daytona for suits , dressier events . I view them as different watches for different purposes , that's just my 2 pennies worth

It's gotta be both IMHO. started off with the sub and considered flipping it for the daytona, ended up with both and couldn't be happier. Although I'm leaning more towards the daytona and wearing it daily since June

You guys are killing me!!

I may go the 16600 route, but fear i will miss the rolexrolex from the cerachrom!

The SDc is another $1700 or so though and doesn't really seem worth it to me. I really love the fact that the 16600 is no longer in production as well.

This might be a good read

I've been told the sdc wears significantly more comfortable but I have never tried on a 16600 so can't impart too much knowledge

I've wanted a black face Daytona for a long time but it kills me it doesn't have the date function which is useful. I just feel like the Sub is EVERYWHERE.

I rarely see a Daytona in the wild, but the Sub is such a great every day piece.

How far 'upstate' are you. I've learned it means different places depending on your location

I spent a lot (probably too much) time in Saratoga during the summer months. Love it up there.

N.Fox is a great store, they fitted my last GMT II for free. One of the sales girls let me check out the owners Rose Gold Daytona, what a piece that was.

Get both. I had the same situation and ended up with both...

No such thing as too much time there in the summer. The vibe in that place in unbelievable

Agreed. Great people work in that store. They had a RG Daytona in the case when I was there this year. I don't think they move much inventory. There were two watches I noticed that have been there for at least two years.

I went the Sub route first and followed with a Daytona within a month. Both compliment each other in a collection.

You can't go wrong with either. If it were me, I'd chose the Sub date over the Daytona as a first piece. I find the date function extremely useful and the rotating bezel as well.

As for it being common, I don't see many in the wild here, but who really cares.

why not gmt2 C or BLNR ? you get the date function (sub like dial) and the polished bracelet gives a touch of daytona :)
