I think a two tone shows more scratches than an all gold... but hey, like Tooney inferred, the only alternative to scratches, is a safe

Scratches...part of a watch's life. Gold or steel.

Sure gold scratches more easily. But as long as we're talking mild abrasion and not deep gouges, it's not a big deal. Some patina and wear adds character. Also, having owned a a 116710 in the past and owning an 116718 now, both collected scratches. Let me assure you, however, that I find the contemplation of the scratched 116718 more far more satisfying!

And that is basically a close up snap shot of a your watch. In daily life you are a living moving human and nobody sees your watch like that. You see a guy's YG DD at the table next to you in a restaurant and it looks gorgeous even if it in fact it's pretty beat up. He's picking up his wine glass, taking a sip, and putting it back down. In all likelihood you don't see a single scratch.

I also noticed the scratches on my 718, but once it goes in for service I expect it to come back looking like new.

Doesn't bother me too much, I consider this my daily wearer and it doesn't look to bad at all given the activities I do

yea it does scratch, but you can always polish it out one day. I wouldn't though. A watch will always have scratches, unless its made in tungsten or something like that. Just relax and enjoy the watch...

Doesn't concern me and don't really notice a difference. As someone mentioned I think it's more a matter if the surface is polished or brushed as to whether it's more easily noticed if you're looking, rather than the material.
