I concur on the face of it. But can't conclude the seller or AD did anything wrong without more details from the OP about how his potential warranty issue is handled by Rolex.

I'll monitor it for ten more days and see how it runs.
Here is a photo of the watch, tag, and card as received in February. The "dealer" portion of the card causes me no concerns. It's the dealer name and country exactly as shown on Rolex.com, and appears to be machine filed by ink or toner. The bottom portion, eh. "October 15" isn't a real solid response to a dd.mm.yyyy question. So it could be read as "Sometime in October 15" or "October the 15th of some year". Actual ad phrase was "Watch is brand new with complete original boxes, papers, warranty card, and under manufacturer's warranty". So yes, it could be October 15, 2013 and still be accurate. Perhaps I should have questioned that in more detail. Overall, I do not believe the seller misrepresented at all, even if the date of purchase turns out to be October 15, 2013 and not "Sometime in October 2015". I expect the Dallas RSC will regulate it under warranty, and like most I expect it will never return there. I really want to protect the seller at this point. My failure to take questions to the next level does not reflect badly on him. Every interaction and every recommendation here predicts that in the rare case the RSC won't regulate it under warranty, he'll want to make it right. THANKS for the information. I'll let y'all know how it goes (Speed, tasering, and warranty regulation). |

Recently we had a red-tag query on a post-July 2015 watch (bought from a trusted seller), and it turned out the warranty card had been tampered with (date changed).

Rewound the GMT, and it ran for 46 hours, so that's one less concern.

Tasering didn't hurt or help.
After seven days (never off my wrist, and starting with a full wind), it's gaining on average 16.8 seconds per day. I'll contact Dallas RSC, and the trusted seller, and let y'all know how it works out in several weeks. |

OK, TRFers, now I REALLY need your opinions.
Contacted the trusted seller, who was disappointed that I'd experienced a problem. He suggested I send the watch to Dallas RSC, which I did. I included the warranty card, noted that I preferred that they contact the AD with any questions about the sale since the watch was a gift from my wife (truth). By the way, Registered Mail/Priority mail got it from Nashville to Dallas in 46 hours. Dallas RSC just called. The technician was unable to duplicate the problem. HUH? This thing is less accurate than my garden sundial, see the graph!!! And I've been wearing my GMT IIc since I mailed the Milgauss on Monday. It's lost 1/2 second, even better than it's previous FIVE YEARS performance 1.5 seconds per day average. They asked my permission for the technician to wear the watch on a nylon strap all day at work Monday, and I gladly conceded. I'm stumped. What could I be doing wrong with one watch, but not doing wrong with another? What can I detect with an iPhone app that they can't detect with (I assume) very expensive machinery? I hate to be "that guy" but I'm freaking out a little bit. I get badged as a reserve police officer in a month, and my idea all along was that this would be my "non-blingy but classy duty watch". I need to be able to depend on its timekeeping. Any prior similar experiences GREATLY appreciated. When they call on Tuesday, I will also ask them to clarify the date of purchase. However, since the security features of the card are intact, the seller had no concerns about sending it to the RSC, and the RSC is processing under warranty, I'm not longer concerned about the card. I should have asked prior to purchase how much warranty was remaining. But I didn't, the seller accurately represented it as "under warranty" which it is, so that takes care of that issue. THANKS By the way, the only good thing about being Tased is that it stops hurting immediately after the five second cycle ends. Whereas being thrown to the ground repeatedly during ten hours of hand to hand drills hurts for a long time when you are 53. |

IN CONCLUSION (Well, more or less)
All is well. They never called on the Tuesday they'd promised, they called today, but it is possible that I misunderstood. 1 - RSC just called and emailed. Watch will be regulated at no charge. 2 - Email has a field for "Factory Warranty Received" and that field says "Original International 10/01/2015". You can bet I will be keeping THAT document. The service email notes EVERY mark on the watch, really makes it sound like a beater, not a watch with about three weeks of wrist time. Eh. Covering their bases I guess. Trusted seller did nothing wrong it appears. Somehow a red tag didn't get replaced, and someone wrote October 1 2015 as October 15. Neither should be capital offenses IMHO. Meanwhile my trusty GMT IIc has gained a total of 2.0 seconds in the past 48 days, never more than +/- 2 total when I've checked it. Assuming the Milgauss is returned well-regulated, I'll be good shape and should have it two weeks before I go on the road for the first time! |
