Also, I found old forum posts where the owner of everest was saying their straps made in the USA of TPE plastic, and then the story changed along the way on the forums. If you look on kickstarted you will see how shocking the facts are different now: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...-b/description. I’m not a detective, but I play one on internet. LOL Anyway, when I pay this price for rubber strap, I am more comfortable to go with the brand name sure thing. Thank you for the info and photos! |

Since then the straps have all been redesigned and made out of Genuine Rubber at a top facility in Switzerland. Trust me. The guys at Everest are not trying to pull any tricks on where it's made. They are more than happy to tell you about their history. Basically, it just boils down to which design you prefer. Pretty sure there are dealers for both brands in NYC if you want to compare them. Either way, I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you decide. Good luck! |

Everest only draw back is they do not cater for small wrist like mine. Bought many Everest rubber strap (3 sets) all different color but non fit me properly. My only choice is the RubberB.. They fit wrists that are as small as 5.5 inches which will suit most women.
PS avoid all white color rubber straps.. They will stain with ink and and impossible to remove. Best, Jen |

ive got the one with the thin blue line in it... i still find it a bit stiff... im prob comparing it to more "silicone" style bands i guess. My SINN is quite soft but still firm(it does have metal pins in it though which prob increases it rigidity)

Another line to consider is the Hirsch Performance series. I've got a Hirsch James, and it looks like a leather strap, but it's as functional as rubber. It's very comfortable, too.

p.s. Here's a not so great pic of the Hirsch James. The leather has a bit of texture (not as glossy as it looks in the pic,) which I like, so it's a bit more on the casual side for a black leather strap, although I think it can be worn in just about any situation. The underside is fantastic rubber with lots of channels for breathability, and it's 300m waterproof with a 30 month warranty. People must think I'm crazy when I'm swimming with what looks to be a leather strap.

Rubber strap for my Sub C (Submariner Ceramic)?
Everest on my sub c ceramic on 6" wrist still with 2 holes to go so it does fit small wrists. I also have a rubber b, more expensive but not as good and harder rubber. Everest for me

After reading all your suggestions, and researching all my possibilities, I decided to go for Rubber B . For many reasons: no gap between the case, perfect fit for my glidelock clasp and made in Switzerland.
As soon as I receive it, I will post pictures and share my experience! I really hope I made the right choice, only the future will tell. Thank you for all your suggestions and comments! |

Great choice, though to be fair, the same things could all be said about the Everest strap.

Ok, you guys sold me and just ordered an Everest black strap with buckle for the ceramic Sub ND. This forum can be bad for my wallet. ;)

They are made in Switzerland. I would have agreed 2 years ago, but they completely overhauled the design and manufacturing last year, and the majority of the people who compare the newest models choose Everest. Still, you probably can't go wrong either way, so enjoy.

Rubber strap for my Sub C (Submariner Ceramic)?
I think RubberB does a better job of mimicking the lines of the oyster bracelet. I love both of mine...

Ok, have the Rubber B in black with red threading for the Everose Daytona ceramic and just received the Everest for the ceramic Sub ND. Both my wife and her stylish teen daughter agree the Everest looks better than the steel bracelet (considering the black bracelets that surround the Sub ND). As for the band differences, yes the Rubber B is thicker and stiffer. The Everest feels more like the same formulation strap that came with the Patek 5167 Aqua. Due to having a small wrist my concern was typical too large a strap, which was the situation with the stock leather strap on the Daytona so have on order the Rolex smaller-sized leather band. The Everest fits fine, with the buckle being nearly center my wrist and still have two more holes remaining.
Overall, the Sub is now lighter and the steel case is more visually highlighted. Considering this is literally a daily beater including when I work on cars, go swimming at the beach / pool, etc, I really enjoy the Everest B strap. Quality of rubber and the steel buckle seem very solid. Time will tell if it can handle daily (ab)use. BTW Everest includes spring bars whereas Rubber B did not. Also received a very nice handwritten note from Everest with the band, which is a wonderful personal touch.

I just got an Everest black rubber strap for my BLNR. I haven't quite figured out how to post pics on this forum, but the strap looks just like any others you may find online. I see a rubber strap as having some advantages:
1. New Look - If you have a small watch collection like mine (BLNR + JLC), it's nice to be able to adjust the look of your watches with strap changes. Sure, the bracelet looks the best, and I admit that. But changing up the strap allows you to keep the watch "fresh," and when you do change back to the bracelet, I find it makes you appreciate the bracelet even more. 2. Preservation of Bracelet - With the PCL's of the GMTc, the bracelet will get scratches on it. By changing to a rubber, I don't really care to bump it against anything, rest my wrist freely on my work desk, etc. With the bracelet on, I am definitely more conscious of potential scratches. 3. De-Bling - I work in an office environment where no one above me wears a nice watch aside from the head honcho who wears a Sub daily. Throughout my career I've definitely noticed people staring at my Omega, this Rolex, my JLC, etc. Though I think my income justifies such a purchase, there are certainly some social ramifications of wearing an expensive watch. I think for most on this forum, watch collecting is a personal hobby. I'd rather not draw negative attention to myself to enjoy my hobby. Of course, this depends on your age and I'm 32. I think most people wouldn't think less of someone who's over 40 or 50 sporting a Rolex. But I've worn nice watches since I was in my mid 20's and I feel like curious eyes have definitely drawn unwanted attention. Rubber helps alleviate this effect in my opinion. The one major drawback of either the Everest or RubberB strap is the price! I just recently bought a Bonetto Cinturini rubber strap that cost $30 with shipping. Sure, it's not perfectly fitted to a case of any watch, but as far as the actual material? It feels different from my Everest but not any worse. They both feel like nice rubber material albeit different, and one could make the argument that the Bonetto is better since it can fit a wide variety of watches, whereas an Everest or RubberB can only fit certain Rolex models. One other point I'd bring up regarding pricing is it's all relative. If this same rubber were branded and manufactured by Rolex, it would cost over $400. The OEM rubber strap for my JLC Master Compressor is around $450+. So perhaps to some a $200-$250 price tag for a rubber isn't that bad, relative to other OEM rubbers with a nice fit and finish. Good luck OP. |

Maxutil, agree the prices are a bit high as the Patek 5167 strap is around $250 or so. On the other hand the Everest for the ceramic Sub ND is a very nice band that fits perfectly, comes with spring bars (call it $15) and perhaps equally as important, the clasp is very think and sturdy (call it $25). Most cheap straps have clasps that are, well, equally as cheap. Considering the (ab)use I put a watch through, cheap clasps easily break and then the timepiece either drops to the ground or, worse, gets lost due to not realizing the watch fell off your wrist.
As for the Rubber B with red stitching for the ceramic Everose Daytona, that is eye-poppingly priced and uses the Everose stock Rolex clasp. It is 'worth it'? Well, imho when you consider the strap is made specifically for the Everose and uses the stock clasp, there is quite a bit of engineering costs and am sure they do not sell that many so you need to amortize production costs accordingly. Considering the price of the watch, the percentage of the cost is relatively reasonable. Pick any two of the below: Low Price Great Customer Service High Quality
