Just to be clear...I don't like the green nato on that watch in the picture I posted. In fact, I doubt I'll ever wear that DJ with anything other than the jubilee. Maybe leather.

I was/ am curious as to what others thought.

OK, I was being nice. Not a good look.

I think the only Rolex which looks good on a NATO is a Milsub. I tried my 5513 Maxi, and I ended up back with the Oyster because I thought it looked a bit desperate to be a Milsub.

And, of course, there is leather without NATO. Same dressed-down look but more traditional, hits the sweet spot.

Both your Oyster and your leather straps look exceptional. The Datejust is not a watch that needs to be pigeonholed to a Jubilee bracelet, it's okay to change it up on occasion, I think that's the epiphany of recent years.

I think I've tried all the possible combinations!

Mine tends to live on an Oyster, mainly because I prefer the more low key look but also because the Jubilee is a vintage one that's too short and bl**dy difficult to add links to.

So in summary, my Datejust is not that popular on TRF, :(
I agree with you 100%, especially with the newer models. It's such a versatile aesthetic, and with a silver dial really goes with just about anything you'd throw it on, even with fluted bezel.

But then again, I actually don't like them on the jubilee, so…

Me too, especially as that is such a fine looking watch. A rich brown leather might suit it well. Nato isn't classy enough, it's not a 'military' watch.

I don't think I'm a fan of the oyster on a DJ either...maybe on the newer DJ with smooth bezel.

+1 on the countless replies...a ballistic nylon NATO watchstrap on anything but a sports/technical model tends to cheapen the overall appearance of a dress watch IMHO...why would you want to do that?

Jubilee for the flutter bezel or oyster for the dome bezel.

I always go for the OEM bracelet.

Sorry mate.
