I purchased my white dial 5711/1a last October. I was lucky enough that my local AD had one in their vault available. I was new to the PP brand and had not purchased from this AD before, but had become friendly acquaintances with the Patek "Ambassador". He has since told me it will be 6-9 months before they see another. They do however have a Rose Gold 5711 available. Really an amazing piece.

The 5711 is a fantastic watch. Its super hard to get from an AD, impossible to see sitting in stores, but you can definitely get one immediately from a reseller if you are ok with paying a slight premium.

Mind sharing the AD? I am looking for a white dial and have been calling all over the country with no luck.

So I ordered one from her, put down a deposit and everything. She told me she ordered with the PP rep and was told it would arrive around the fall. I got the call 2 days ago, it arrived in only about 30 days! Actually, looking at the receipt, I ordered on May 17. Got it on June 24! I was shocked and obviously ecstatic to say the least. I'll start another incoming thread about it shortly. So they can be obtained. I guess it depends on the AD.
I had a similar experience at my AD for my new SS 5167. The experience sounds almost exactly the same. I do have a relationship with them though since this is my third piece.

Here in Norway the only AD we have in the Country has the waiting list full and 8 in line and because of that they closed the list since it will probably take over 8 years to get one since they usually only get one per year.

Still waiting for the 5711a in my part of the globe, no call yet, its been 8months now. not in a rush but really quite a long wait i guess. prefer to get this from an AD so i guess thats why the wait is longer than most.

Congrats Karl, looks great, you finally added a Nautilus to your great collection, I am getting mine in 2017 normally, might seem stupid to have a 5712 and 5711 but it's my 2 favorite SS watches, and while very close are IMO different enough to be appreciated in their own right, of course an awesome other blue dial Nautilus before getting mine could make me change my mind but don't think that'll happen, anyways will be very happy with that Nautilus pair and the other watches I'll have...

Hearing rumors again that no more AD orders for this piece will be taken this year in prep for the 40th Anniversary. Also that it could be discontinued. Not my words, ok.

I ordered the white dial and had to wait just over a month. The AD called said a blue arrived unexpectedly and asked if I wanted it... Obviously I took it. If you can get on a list first, and pay in full, you may be surprised how quickly one will arrive. At least that's my experience

Spoke to my AD. Wanted to buy one for a family member as a gift. She said would have to pull some strings but could get me one if I really wanted it. Times like this is why having such a close relationship with your AD can be beneficial.

guys I am pretty sure that the 5711 is not going to be discontinued.

There will be two special editions for the 40th anniversary - my guess is a perpetual calendar and the other maybe a split second chrono

I would guess they are going to discontinue simple steel watches and push complications in the sport segment.

Seems logical. Better margins & less of becoming a one watch company
